That's it and I know Maloy won't agree, but this follows the same pattern when Israel went after Hezbollah.

The pattern is this:

- Agreed upon Cease fire

- Iranian backed Hezbollah break cease-fire
- Russian backed "separatists" break cease-fire

- Israel trys to "root out" Hezbollah from Lebanon
- Georgia trys to "root out" Russian "separatists" from southwest Georgia

Now, Russia had been preparing for this for awhile as indicated by the Jane's Defense Review article posted on June 09 of this year.

when i was in the army back in 87 we trained to kill the russians, we were ready to take them then, and now they are nothing compared to what they were then, so if they want a little red white and blue but whipping, we should give it to em, Im so tired of all the hype that they are such great soldiers compared to ours, so what if half the world hates us, everyone who commits crime hates cops, isnt that really the how and why of it, russia thinks its going to get away with this, and they won't, and our country will not allow another cold war with such a weakened adversary, we like pulling the trigger more than they do now...
if its war they want then we should be supporting our allies, this is crap, why havent we struck at russia for invading one of our protected allies land with tanks and planes, bringing death. Our power is way past reaching out and touching anyone, we need to stand and deliver, these are our allies for christ's sake!!!
Just to make sure I don't get cut for wondering off topic, rumor is we have quite a battle group coming from japan to bully off the russians black sea fleet, including the USS Ronald Reagan Nimitz Class Aircraft Carrier, and about 4 guided missle cruisers. I say crush the russians, not because of the old rational of that they are commies, but because they are evil.
As much firepower as we have in the region, and more coming, Russians need to back off if they know what is good for em...

Has a chair general i am
1) Send special Forces in to reclaim the land
2)Dig in until we get more tanks for back up
3)Attack all the military bases in Georgia and Air ports and the goods
4)Surround them from all sides,from air to sea to ground
5)hasn't happen yet but will.... INVADE!!!

Turkish warships stationed in Black Sea at Batumi, Georgia. Don't know if this has been mentioned yet, but this one is nearing "confirmed" status.

Batumi is south of Poti, just north of the Turkish border.

Warships operated by Turkey, a NATO member, reportedly were standing offshore of the Georgian port of Batumi.

The Russians better be darned sure who they're shooting at. As has been mentioned before, Turkey is a NATO member.

See i new this will eventually come up, it was just a rumor and people denied it.but now its confirmed

Now we can see it is heating up because Russia just bombed a military airfield near the Georgian capital. They are advancing further into Georgia while attacking military and economic targets.

I'm in agreement - the US shoud intervene very soon if absolutely necessary and it appears may be going this direction.

Jesus Christ. I have pointed out and explained on many threads that Russia has no interest in invading Georgia, and will not do it. I can bet my reputation on that. It is not happening. It will not happen. Stop speculating - if you really know Russian-Georgian relations for the last 20 years you would know this is an impossible scenerio. Forget it.

They will stop after they retake S. Ossetia and pound Georgian military positions in Georgia to make sure Georgia cannot attack again. And it will end at that. Same game plan as NATO has in Kosovo.

Looks like Russia IS going all out and destroying anything associated with the Georgian Army. Sky News has new images on TV showing the Russian build up, 6000 troops brought in by land & 4000 by sea. I guess today may be the worst of the conflict we are going to see by the looks of things....

Im not scared of russia, if anything I think there the kind of bully that needs to know they cant win against a true goliath, the usa.

in fact I think we should start selling land in russia right now cause soon we will own it!!!

these guys are the third largest members of our coalition fighting in iraq with us and we are standing around going "DUHHH"

it is absolute crap, we need to help our friends!

Well its not right U.S is dragging this out longest they can before they enter the war... i mean i understand did it in WW2 even though we said we won't get involved and let our allies suffer. But if U.S was attack we would aspect our allies to join in this fight. How weak

We both have nuclear weapons. Ever heard of M.A.D.? Let's not and never entertain the thought.

Russia has not made any hostile moves against the U.S.A. so why would we? Seriously think about what you are saying before you say anything more. It's post cold-war, come out of your bomb shelter, and realize that Russia is not as bad as you may think.

If anything Russia has shown tremendous restraint, and humanitarian efforts for the people of Georgia. Wish we could say the same for Georgia.

Maloy, strarting to look like you're wrong. Russia seems to be preparing to invade Georgia, something you said wouldn't happen.
