After all these events, i honestly cant see a partnership between Russia and the United States, signing the missile shield now, is one of the most awkward and dangerous of times you can pick to do just that, feels orchestrated, it really does, and i'm feeling really uneasy about this. That happens rarely with me.

I had a feeling it would head to another Cold war, the South-Ossetia conlict caught my attention right away, knowing what Georgia is all about.

And now other countries are getting dragged into this. I wont call this war over and done with until all forces from both sides are very far away from eachother and border issues are resolved. But, Medvedev respects what these breakaway's want, and Saakashvili wont give up on them.

This has the potential to grow into something much worse. All it needs is human madness, and there's plenty of that these days...

The US says the days of Cold Wars are over? I dont believe a bit of it.

Looks like this whole affair is far from de-escalating:

Lawmakers: Move '14 Olympics from Russia MSNBC
Pa. representatives say Moscow should be punished for Georgia conflict

Saakashvili said tanks also advanced on another two towns -- Khashari and Borjomi -- in central Georgia, but that could not be independently verified.

ALARM

Bush said: "The world has watched with alarm as Russia invaded a sovereign neighboring state and threatened a democratic government elected by its people.

"This act is completely unacceptable to the free nations of the world," Bush said in his weekly Saturday radio address, which the White House released on Friday.

Any bets another front opens next week?

President Saakashvili speaking right now...

My Heart is broken. Russian forces are very "brutal" and have "no scruples".

Georgia will never surrender.

i think russia was just trying to say, "hey if we need to let a few fly, because of the U.S., then we will have to toss a few in your yard too."
