Silence is usually due to the News Centers are verifying and confirming some big news before they can publish it. This verification takes time and hence this silence.

China has 160 nuclear warheads, and they are Russia's ally. My plucky-guess is that they will join forces to defeat the Great Satan (Dick Cheney).

War is absurd, says Russian pilot shot down over Georgia

Major Markovich, who suffered burns to his arms and a spinal injury, had nothing but praise for his captors, who had treated him excellently from the outset. "This is an absurd situation," he said. "For thousands of years Russians and Georgians have been living together and now we have war and innocent people are dying. It was all started by politicians and I don't understand why."

This is interesting, though it could easily be little more than the individual words of a soldier. Georgia has signed the cease-fire agreement, and the president of Russia has assured leaders that he too will sign it, and that Russia will abide by its protocols, including the withdrawal of forces from Georgia.

However, a Russian soldier has reportedly said that they will remain until the Georgian president resigns.

A Reuters correspondent in the central Georgian city of Gori, the main area occupied by Russian troops, said early on Saturday that there was no sign of large-scale redeployment.

"We will be here until Saakashvili resigns," a Russian soldier at their checkpoint outside Gori said.

Just words, exasperated. War is hell. It does things to the mind, like make it cynical and sarcastic.

Indeed that is what I'm hoping. I'm trying to be optimistic.

Apparently the NATO conference scheduled for next week will be to consider, among other things, the freezing or abandonment of the NATO-Russia council.

One obvious repercussion may well involve the NATO-Russia Council (NRC).

Established at a summit in Rome in 2002, the NRC has often been defended by NATO Secretary General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer as "a valuable forum for dialogue to resolve complex political issues."

The NRC has also led NATO and Russia to cooperate on a practical level, such as with joint military exercises.

But that cooperation looks increasingly at risk.

...

And now, the US ambassador to NATO, Kurt Volker, says Tuesday's talks in Brussels will have NATO allies "consider" freezing, if not abandoning the NRC altogether.

I see so that was their plan, finally now we know what they were doing.
That already breaks the cease-fire agreement by what Rice provided.Guess you can't really trust Russians like they say
