The main conflict is over, more of less.. The Russians have a bit of 'Mopping up to do' but not much else.
There's no real reason for anything else.

Realistically, was this ever in any doubt?

Its hardly as if the entire 58th needed to be sent in.

P.s.
Anyone ever read this before?
An Interview with Saba S., Reservist from Gori..

Pro Georgian site too... hey.. never mind.. It's all just propaganda, Right?

Some people really are naive fools.

Russia had the attack on Georgia planned for several months. Jane's Defense Review reported the massive Russian military build-up outside of Georiga's border under the guise of 'military exercises' since July 19th.

How else do you think Russia mobilized 200 warplanes, and over 1000 tanks in just a few hours strking pretdetermined targets?

I don't know how many times that has to be said, but should definitely tell you Russia had it planned.

Now, the question remains will Russia stand by it's word *this time* to stop attacking? Could it be a ploy just to buy more time and build resources and stave of NATO for awhile longer?

Don't be surprised if Russia does something that contradicts what they're agreeing to now.

President Bush,

Why don’t you shut up? In your statement on Monday regarding the legitimate actions of the Russian Federation in Georgia, you failed to mention once the war crimes perpetrated by Georgian military forces, which American advisors support, against Russian and Ossetian civilians. Kinda embarrassing, eh?

President Bush,

Why don’t you shut up? Your faithful ally, Mikhail Saakashvili, was announcing a ceasefire deal while his troops, with your advisors, were massing on Ossetia’s border, which they crossed under cover of night and destroyed Tskhinvali, targeting civilian structures just like your forces did in Iraq. Kinda humanitarian, eh?

President Bush,

Why don’t you shut up? The military forces of your faithful ally, Georgia, supported by American advisors, while on a mission as peacekeepers in Ossetia, were ordered to open fire on Russian peacekeeping forces in the same team. Kinda noble, eh?

President Bush,

Why don’t you shut up? Your American transport aircraft gave a ride home to thousands of Georgian soldiers from Iraq directly into the combat zone. Did your boys wish them good luck as they stepped off the aircraft? I can almost hear it, “Give ‘em Hell!” Kinda friendly, eh?

President Bush,

Why don’t you shut up? How do you account for the fact that among the Georgian soldiers fleeing the fighting yesterday you could clearly hear officers using American English giving orders to “Get back inside” and how do you account for the fact that there are reports of American soldiers among the Georgian casualties? Kinda odd, eh?

President Bush,

Why don’t you shut up? Do you really think anyone gives any importance whatsoever to your words after 8 years of your criminal and murderous regime and policies? Do you really believe you have any moral ground whatsoever and do you really imagine there is a single human being anywhere on this planet who does not stick up his middle finger every time you appear on a TV screen? Kinda makes ya’ll think, eh?

Do you really believe you have the right to give any opinion or advice after Abu Ghraib? After Guantanamo? After the massacre of hundreds of thousands of Iraqi citizens? After the torture by CIA operatives? Kinda difficult, eh?
Do you really believe you have any right to make a statement on any point of international law after your trumped-up charges against Iraq and the subsequent criminal invasion? Like spittin’ into the wind, right?

President Bush,

Why don’t you shut up? Suppose Russia for instance declares that Georgia has weapons of mass destruction? And that Russia knows where these WMD are, namely in Tblisi and Poti and north, south, east and west of there? And that it must be true because there is “magnificent foreign intelligence” such as satellite photos of milk powder factories and baby cereals producing chemical weapons and which are currently being “driven around the country in vehicles”? Suppose Russia declares for instance that “Saakashvili stiffed the world” and it is “time for regime change”?

Nice and simple, isn’t it, President Bush?

So, why don’t you shut up? Oh and by the way, send some more of your military advisors to Georgia, they are doing a sterling job. And they look all funny down the night sight, all green. Hahaha!

Please send a link re: 1000 tanks.

In addition, please explain how Georgians placed artillery and multiple launch systems around the city on a 15 min notice, complete with enough ammunition for a 14-hour barrage and adjoined by tanks and spec ops.

And you explaine to me what was the Us base doing outside Tshinvali , you explaine to me why russia shot down 3 Georgian spy planes over South Osettia and other "break away Regions" 3 mouths before , also explaine to me why the pilot could only speak English, also explaine to me why there were so many merceneries ? So who have pre planned what ? uhh ?

I'd like to see the reports of American soldier casualties within Georgia. Where is there any proof of that Russian Boy?

Russian Boy you do know the Russian's have no right to shoot down unmaned recon drones over S. Os, you do realize that this is still technically Georgia territory. Take your anti USA drivel somewhere else, you last link from Prava SUCKED, nobody wants to hear your lamentations about the President of the United States.

Your posts suck--worthless anti US drivel, I can watch MTV for that. Not to mention instead of recognizing the fact you turn around and place blame and then point out anything but admitting to hard data from Jane's, whether you like it or not. Classic deflection.

This was no great surprise, only the timing, and the balls to carry it out.

While not disagreeing, I'm wondering if non-use of aircraft was included in the previous peace agreements. If it was, it probably doesn't matter whether the craft was manned or not.

I saw the President of Georgia talking about this subjest specifically, when being interviewed on tv somewhere. It is lawful for them to fly unmanned drones over Georgia proper, functionally it was a act of war for tthe Russians to shoot them down in the first place as RUSSIANBOY so pitifully pointed out.

Hit a nerve, No just ridiculous, pitiful, emotional commments from prava baching the President of the United States, when it is well known the the past 15 years that America has invested billions of Dollars into Georgia and its military. Where is the surprise, but i think it is important to put the blame on GW Bush since you know he causes hurricanes to demolish cities and other dastardly deeds.

This is exactly the kind of immature, unfriendly and inciteful kind of statements we don't want to include in ANY discussion.

I know the topic is an emotionally fuelled one but there is no need to behave like this.

The Georgian army got their ass kicked hard with all that american training.I wish Russia would kick some more ass.Sad tho some civilians got in the crossfire and payid for it and I'm sorry for those georgian soldiers that did not want to fight but were forced to fight.
I'm sick and tierd of the propaganda BS and the crap and crimes that the elites have done.Sick of chanels like CNN that only tell one sided version.
This is to show that they are not ivincible, I bet if Russia wanted it could of done more damage but Russia is not USSR anymore , they got an obligation to show that, this is why they stoped. It's sad that this cost so many lives, for what? For a bunch of crooks manipulating the georgian administration.President of Georgia deserves to be hanged like Sadam for
starting and leveling South Osetia.

ignoring the chest thumping

you do know that russia has allways had an instant mobilization plan?

they can bring there military to full war fighting alert and fight for for 3 days within 2 hours.

after 3 days supplies become an issue - but they have the instant rediness as part of there dotrine - which is why they can bring alot of troops into play so quicly - they brought them in on friday and tuesday its all over - now come resupply and bring them home.

Sorry to interrupt, but can anyone confirm this one as fake?

Some poor bloke from all accounts.

I seen it yesterday and was kinda curious.
(Background noise sounds kind of odd to me)

If you can a reference would be nice.

Cheers.
