Yes this seems to be a long-standing ATS bug. Interestingly, it only happens after the thread has reached many pages (more than 10?). Probably a ">" instead of a ">=" somewhere, buried in 1000's of lines of PHP code.

If you click the little 'last post' icon, and it doesn't take you to the last post, you can manually work-around the bug and see the post on the 'hidden' page by editing the URL in the address bar -- change (for example) 'pg49' to 'pg50' and delete the '#pid' part.

It happens when a thread has required several posts removed (porno links, Spam, etc...). It throws off the db tables.

S.O. has described it several times I just don't recall the details but the root cause is a thread getting big enough to attract garbage posts that have to be deleted thus leaving "holes" in the thread itself.

Is there ATS server wonkiness happening this morning or is it just my connection?

Avatars and other images (pretty quotation marks, buttons, etc) that are hosted at ATS aren't always showing up. And a couple of times, I think maybe the style sheet hasn't been accessed or something, because most of the formatting is missing.

I hope everything's okay in here

I cannot start a new thread.

I cannot see any stars or flags on threads.

Nor can i star or flag a thread myself.

I cannot see any of my friends (where is says 'one of your friends' next to their name)

Most peoples avatars are missing.

smilies are not working either... i cannot see mine or anyone elses.


Please can somebody help, as it's very annoying.

Everything is working fine here from the UK - even using a mobile broadband connection from a car park...

Perhaps it was just a glitch or something connected to the recent server errors.

But all well and good from my end.

I am having some trouble editing my posts. Adding one or two words is fine, but if I try to add more than that or add a link to a post, it doesn't show up. I just get the edit tag with no edits showing.

This has been happening for about a week now...

Hey, just a quick note of thanks for adding the "Newest Threads" sidebar. I noticed it a few weeks ago; it's really sweet to have a most-recent thread list (all forums) that isn't swamped out by posts on popular older threads.

Any chance of making the title text of the sidebar ("Newest Threads:") a hot-link that takes one to an entire page of, say, the most recent 100 threads? That would be even sweeter!

It sounds like you're not seeing the images hosted on our high-bandwidth distributed network provider, CacheFly.



As a test... can you see this image of the ATS logo off our own servers?

I can see the first ATS logo, but not the second image.. it just a line?

Even to post in a thread, i have to use the "quote" feature and then delete everything in the post and post my own comments.

If it's any help diagnosing the problem, I stopped having problems about a half hour after I posted yesterday, I think. And I think it was all Cachefly images that I was unable to see then - my member upload space pictures as well as many avatars and a few but not all buttons.

And I second Ian's thanks for the new posts sidebar. It's a great feature.

How did I get to -1500 BTS points? Did I offend?

well I must be the lucky one cos I have had no problems what so ever all sweet maybe we should start a thread for non ats issues

Quick question:

I have recently sent and received a few U2U's and now the red U2U button will not go away. I keep clicking on it thinking I must have a new U2U but the page just displays the already read ones. There are no new posts in either Inbox or Outbox. Is this a common problem and is there a way to fix it?

It's nothing serious, just really annoying

Did you perhaps buy something in the ATS store recently? If so you probably used "combined points" (the default unless you change it) and the store took half the cost in ATS points and half the cost in BTS points.. which if you didn't have enough BTS points puts you in the hole. Weird, I know, but that's what it does...

I've been having this problem on and off also. I have discovered that I can usually "fix" it by deleting the newest U2U message I have (or save it, just get it out of the inbox), but that's a temporary fix and doesn't really address the problem.

A new bug, perhaps? I have noticed it most often with messages from Mods or admin; even after I've read the message it remains bolded until I delete or move it, and the board continues to alert me that I have a "new" U2U message although I don't.

This happens when someone sends you a u2u that has the improper capitalization of your username. For example, mine is "intrepid" but if someone sent me a u2u as "Intrepid", this will happen. Like you said, just get it out of your inbox.
