Well, once again it is NOT working! Chat seems to be about as reliable as a career politician! Since we are being deprived of Mutter (still not happy about that!), isn't there some way we can make sure that chat stays up and functional?!?!?!?

OK.....

Dumb question of the year.....

How do I add the custom 1st & 2nd lines to my title in my avatar?

I purchased them at the store (at least I think I did), but I can't see how I write & insert them.

Regards
MMN.....resident genius

A suggestion which may reduce the amount of duplicate threads at source.

When a member is posting their newsworthy story, they* copy the exact headline of the story into the headline field .... or so they should.

How difficult would it be to notify the member at this point , that a thread bearing this headline is already in existence .

Can titles of threads be checked against existing titles -automatically? Is this a difficult task ,i.e writing code or whatever sort of binary alchemy is involved .

Just a thought .

If you create a new thread and use the exact wording as an existing thread you will see:

There is already a thread in the forum with that topic.
Please use your browser's back button and select a different topic.

The problem arises when people do not use the Search Function and post a duplicate thread using a different title.

If a thread is started in BAN (Breaking Alternative News) the exact title of the article is always required. Not so much in other forums.

Member tools > Custom Titles... If you click the "Custom First /Second (there are two separate buttons) title button a window appears with the place to type in what you want.

Hope that helps.

G'day Springer.....

Obviously the chemtrails have got to me!

I definitely purchased the 1st & 2nd line titles, however I can't see a control for custom titles anywhere, including the members tools options list & the account settings page.

It's really just an incredibly minor issue & I do appreciate you taking the time to answer in the 1st instance.

Edit by MMN: Look at that!
I've somehow added "500" & "750" in those custom title lines! It's gotta be the chemtrails.....I'll have another look.

Kind regards

"Custom Title, first line" == Title1

"Custom Title, second line" == Title2

Hope this helps.

Does this mean I don't get my job on the ATS Help Desk?

OK.....I see how it works, now......I change the custom titles each time I purchase them.

And.....every time I change those lines I spend the points) which is no problem)

.....is that correct? There's no other place I should be changing those custom titles?

Thanks for your huge contribution in my time of need.

Listen.....

How do I erase the titles?

I tried repurchasing them & leaving them blank, but that didn't work.

Yeah I know.....

I had to get help from Djarums to erase the title - far as I know, you cannot go back to blank, on your own.

p.s. - I like the "test, test" though - especially with that avatar!

Lol...

Well, you can actually ... all you need to do is repurchase and just enter a space in the box. That is if you've got the big bucks to throw around. Of course that doesn't help Djarums' loneliness.

I just tried that 3 times with existing news threads and I received:Your topic search found 0 matching threads. new search
each time. Searches with more than one or two words on a line just dont seem to work
