Yeah many people having the same issues... It's being looked into.

I can only get into 2 threads on here and they're both Board and Business threads.

Hopefully It'll be resolved soon

I have been trying to get my friends list removed from this post but to no avail.. I have reported this specific post about six times but it feels like I've been brushed off so I am posting it here. I even contacted a moderator and she said she'd look into it and assured me I was not being ignored but a day later it is still there.. that and the personal attacks:

I feel like I am blacklisted from using the gripe function. Expecting not to be personally attacked is not unreasonable.. and I shouldn't have to put up with my friends list being posted in-thread. Mods say use the gripe function.. yet whats the point if it doesn't work? Would I get a warning if I start acting the same way?

Yeah I have used the report function a bit but I've been in controversial topics (there does seem be an anti-female sentiment growing in this forum). I should be able to have grown up debates with people without getting personally insulted all the time. I've been here since 04 and this cutting trolls so much slack is denograting the whole forum and underminding it's purpose

I don't like doing laundry here in public either but I've tried everything else.

Everything the Mods do is governed by the Terms and Conditions. As your Friends list is on your "Public Profile" and not Private, there is no violation of the Terms and Conditions. Nothing private was posted.

Yeah thats exactly what he said. He also made very personal attacks that mods ignored; things that are against the T&C yet you cite them as reason to leave my friends list there..? My friends list is obviously NOT a valid topic of discussion and he posted it purely to piss me off and as good as said so.

The T&C seems to change depending on the person.

What happened to "discuss the post not the poster"? Posting my whole friends list kind of goes against that.

Every single Complaint and Alert is reviewed by the Staff, not any one individual.

If the post was/is considered, by the Staff, as an attack, action is taken; if not, then no action will be taken.

I'm sorry that you disagree with the Staff, but as previously stated, the Terms and Conditions are what guides us.

If the terms and conditions was what guided the personal attacks would not have stayed there. I even had to contact a mod privately to get some removed in another thread as the gripe function did nothing. She did not hesitate nor did she imply that such attacks were reasonable.

So all my complaints were read then. Oh thats comforting.. mods read those personal attacks and left them.

It isn't me just over reacting either.. these were nasty personal attacks and I did not deserve them. I can hold my own but I shouldn't have to get dragged through the mud after I have made real attempts to discuss things civily and have stayed within guidelines.

Btw. The friends lists are public only to other ats members.. now anyone can read my friends list. Why do we have to log in to see eachothers profiles if they are so public?

Yes I know I have to just accept it and I won't bother posting on it again as I can see the answer isn't going to change. Perhaps I should just follow their lead in my own behaviour. Sounds fun.

How is posting a portion of your friends list, in the context of his rebuttal to you, an attack?

From what I can gather, you made the claim that it's impossible to be friends with someone who you can see "eye to eye".

He disagreed and used a small portion of your "friends" list to back his statement up. What's the problem?

There is nothing in the TAC that says it's a violation to post a part of a public profile. It was actually a fairly smart response considering his position IMHO.

Yes it could be an innocent rebuttal however some of my friends list is now available to non members and I cannot edit it. I will explain why this bothers me so you can hopefully see things from my perspective a bit more. I can now as a new member has bumped it (I'm not accusing them but it is odd). the OP of it was banned for spamming very graphic gay porn in the profiles of many of my friends and he started that thead because I said I was buddhist. His name was also pisstake of mine.. an obvious troll. I did not want that happening again; out of sight out of mind if I had of known that my friends could be posted in-thread I might have deleted them. Now thats not my option and I can't protect them if someone was to do it again.

I do love the concept behind this place, have tried to contribute, do not want to get leave again so will just accept it. I have said my piece now.

I have an issue I'd like some help with dear moderator team. Very much in line (kind of) with the OP quote section.

Why are we not allowed to talk about ATS and the perceived lack of enforcement of 'hate-speech' rules when it comes to Islamic themed posts & comments?

I started this thread about introducing a Muslim SME or moderator to help increase understanding of Islamic subjects, and to combat anti-islamic hate speech.

Unsurprisingly, this thread was closed. Skyfloating does love the 'religion and ATS' discussion threads. I understand WHY the thread was closed, but I don't agree with it. Please don't make the mistake of thinking this is me having a go about the thread being closed - it isn't. I would just like an answer about a subject that appears TABOO on ATS of all places...

I'm genuinely concerned that ATS is missing a trick here.

I had no idea that happened. I removed the list from the post in question and replaced it with text that conveys the same intent.
