What you are saying here is "I had a post removed so I'm going to complain that the staff are acting in an elitist manner, and try and wrap it up in some sugar coated disclaimer".

Doesn't work. YOU are responsible for YOUR own posts, in the same manner that other posters are responsible for THEIR own posts.

If you break the T&C - no matter what the supposed reason is for doing it then your post is likely to be removed.

Simple as that.

Actions taken on other peoples accounts are, quite simply, none of your concern, but if you feel there is a problem with something someone posted, use the ALERT button to bring it to the staffs attention. If no action is taken on the post, then the staff have looked at it and deemed it to be non-actionable.

And remember - just because someone may disagree with something you've written, and say so in a thread - it does not make that post actionable.

Well, after having several threads, and posts deleted and or moved, I find myself here...


I find the mods here to be one of two types of people.

1: Nice and cordial and very helpful... i.e. GreenEyedLEO. Very nice after some miscommunications on my part.

And...

2: Just power hungry, over bearing, over censoring control freaks.

Threatening posters for asking a question should never be acceptable in a professional place like this.

I wish I could give stars here. I just got 2 u2u's from a mod first saying my thread had been moved. Second u2u saying thread had been moved right back to where I put it in the first place .

Then I go to look at it and the same mod had closed the thread...

indecisive much??

OK, seeing as you asked, I looked into this.

The one thread I could find that was deleted was about Obama and the OP stated. "Just kidding, blah, blah, blah....." Of course that's going to be deleted. Now to your deleted post. What does dissing the staff have to do with Obama? From another thread? Nothing. That's why it was deleted.

Bottom line us that if you aren't going to post according to ATS etiquette you are going to have material removed. Simple. Now, if you want to into this in more detail, may I suggest going to U2U.

Yeah lol, the same mod again changed his mind I guess and re-opened it...

Hi all - Browser problem question.

When using Opera - I am unable to access any of the features from the drop down menu (Member Tools) I am redirected to the main board page, instead.

This does not happen using Firefox.

Any thoughts?

Right. He moved it to Complaints because he thought it needed Admin attention and when it was determined to be a board topic he moved it back. And DIDN'T close it. I really wish people would use the Complaints function. This would have been easily explained. Guess it's easier to just bash the staff though.

I said he closed it because HE said he closed it in a reply in the thread...I guess I shouldn't have taken that as meaning closed?

He didn't edit his post. It wasn't closed.

OK, one last time. He was going to close/move it. He realized it wasn't the right action and moved it back and didn't close it.

Thanks for looking into it, even though you failed to see the issue.

The issue is, while my post was in jest and meant to be lite hearted, it was entirely factual. And to top it off, after asking the mod who deleted it, why it was deleted he thought it was ok to threaten me.

The post, also, is not the only one deleted, or thread deleted since Ive been here.

Ive been to many massage boards and some of the mods here are really nuts with being internet cops.

I get TOS. I do. Im not 15. I read them when I join somewhere.

Being threatened for a view point based on fact though I dont think is very professional if given mod powers.

I accidentally moved the thread to complaints, when I realized that I left a note with a link to the ATS Issues Thread, and If I left it moved, you wouldn't see it.

I moved it back and meant to close it, but was on ATS while at work and had to take a call, I didn't get back to the thread.

That's it.

I just installed that version and build on Ubuntu and tried it, and it worked as expected.
