Tinwiki is offline (indefinitely). You can read more here. You can hold on to the updated info for the time being.

Hi All -
I started a thread this morning about the 5 (ended up being 7) virus/trojans I encountered when I logged into ATS this morning.

The thread was moved.

The link sent my by Skeptic Overlord, did not work, I got an error code when I clicked on the link he sent me.

I can't find my thread, (now a post I guess), the search engine is down (for me at atleast) and I'm really angry that my computer is fried - again - when I just got it back from the shop 4 days ago.

My thread does not show up in my profile area either.

Any suggestions?

Your thread has been moved to the complaints forum for staff attention. Your concerns will be looked at and addressed if necessary.

If SkepticOverlord's U2U to me said he'd moved the thread, and, it could be found *here* - listing a link - why do you say now it's been moved to complaints?

Are you telling me it was moved - and then moved again to complaints?

I ask because he would not have sent me a link - to go see my thread at another link where it was moved to - if it was sent to complaints.

thanks

Yes and no. The thread was moved (only once) from BB&Q to complaints as the log would typically indicate:

SkepticOverlord has moved a thread by silo13 from Board Business & Questions to Complaints.

When a thread is moved an automated U2U is generated. The automated U2U states something like this:

It was necessary to move a thread you created titled, Your thread name which was originally posted in the Board Business & Questions forum, to the Complaints forum. SkepticOverlord has initiated this action, and included this message about it:

Blablabla

Your thread is still available here,

Which is perhaps a bit erroneous, because even though the thread is still available at the link provided, you will be unable to view it, only staff members can view it. Perhaps now is a good time to suggest that we remove the "Your thread is still available here" part when a thread is moved to complaints to prevent such confusion?

Forgive me if this has been asked before, but my background color has gone missing. It used to be black, but has turned back into the standard grey color again... Any idea why?

Ok, I have another question.

Now when you post or star someone you are not returned to that post but the top of the page, a real annoyance.

Why is that?

I noticed that it happens when we star a second post, after the first one we are directed to the post we starred, but if we star more then we are left at the top of the page.

What browser do you use? I use an up to date Firefox, and am always returned to the post I starred...

So, basically, there is no tinwiki any longer and if they can't rectify this problem, all is lost?

Why can't we just recreate our entries of tinwiki? And is there any way you can let us know what has been recovered thus far?

And thanks GEM!!

Ok, I have a strenge issue ... for a change.

My background color is set to black, but some members including myself see it as black and others apparently see a default gray background.
And they're not on "go light."

Any suggestions?

Edit to add: I just reset it and the problem persists.

What I see: files.abovetopsecret.com...
What some others see: files.abovetopsecret.com...

checked both light/dark and you're fine... I would think it is member specific.. not ATS. just a guess

Well let's take care of that ...
A member survey to identify the "grays" ...
Followed by a house to house visit by ats admin to rectify the problems on members' individual computers.

What, I'm supposed to go gray and junk?

Let me add this to the mystery ...
I recently had an image as a background. When I reverted back to a regular avatar the background was already set to 000000 (black) from before I put up the background image. So in order to remove the bg image I simply entered a [space] in the bg image box to clear it so that the black bg would come back. Then I added the avy.
Is this relevant?

Edit: I moved back to a bg image so as to get rid of the issue. But it seems to be a browser problem for some folks.

I get a gray background using Firefox on SD's avatar, however when I switch to Explorer, it shows up with a black background.

I can't see how the background would appear in one and not the other.

Seems like more than a user's issue to me.

What possible settings could alter just the background and nothing else.

(Also checked go lite vs. go dark....no difference)
