It's really unacceptable to take a technical issue and turn it into an attack. You said yourself that your account is fine on one browser. If you were being "censored" for whatever reason, don't you think it would be a bit more thorough? Give me a break. Your initial post mentioning this problem came off as an attack rather than a request for help. And yet you're upset at the replies you've gotten? People have tried to assist you or at least determine what the problem is, but you've responded with nothing but accusations, attacks and some odd fixation with "the man" censoring you.

Your attitude is absolutely disgusting and uncalled for. For some reason SO has chosen to engage you in conversation, regardless of your hostility. I don't know why.

Let's all just chillax, okay?

Interested- I emailed you, as you requested.

We'll get it worked out. I promise, okay? I promise promise that I am doing my best and that I can figure out and fix the problem if we can all just chill out. We only tried one thing. There are other things we can try. I'm just chilling on my couch, Saturday night, eating some candy. I'm fine.

It clearly means a lot to her that this part of the ATS website works on her preferred browser. She's an older member than I am, really, if it means that much to her it's worth figuring out. And I volunteered. Everyone else should go enjoy their Saturday night. It's summer, some people are away from home and having a good time and stuff.

We're just using this thread now to kind of communicate since her U2U reading feature is currently out of commission on her browser.

Still not working, but at this point I really don't care anymore.

Sure I can use IE..........shouldn't have to, but can.

MemoryShock..........Good tidings to you and those of you here who are really cool.

Luckily I have found other places that treat the members like they care about them rather than pulling the drama card and other tactics to remain superior.

If I am banned and want to come here I know how to make it happen, but I can't imagine why I would go to such lengths to be disrespected..........

I'm quite sure nobody wants to ban anyone, but this really isn't getting anywhere.

I use Firefox, as do a LOT of ATSers, and my U2U functions all work fine, which suggests there may be something else in play here. Specifically, signs point to something unique about your installation of Firefox.

One thing always worth checking: what version of Firefox are you using? I just upgraded to 3.5.1 recently from 3.0.12, and quite a few things have improved.

Before proceeding, I recommend verifying that you're running 3.5.1 or later.

This is why a 153 page issues thread doesn't work!

I've posted my "issue" 3 pages back and nothing ...

It's not important enough to warrant a new thread, but IMO, it's not unimportant enough to be completely ignored.

Next time, I'll just start a thread I think.

here it is again:

I've noticed that when a user adds another to his foe list, a U2U is sent out to that user.

Would it be possible for an automatic u2u to be sent out when a user adds another to the "friends list" as well?

Is there any reasons why it doesn't?

My apologies if this has been discussed before.

Broken Links

On the board page in the top left sidebar, (under the ATS firehose pic) the link to conspiracies is a broken link.

In the footer, the link to "Gorilla Nation" is also a broken link.

I've noticed something odd...

I searched to see if somebody has brought it up but so far nothing. If you notice on the top right in the Media Home section I cant get access the My Account option thanks to the cool looking animation

That's weird. I have a Mac and I'm using Safari and it works alright. I wonder if other Vista/Firefox users have the same problem. Is all your graphics and animation stuff like Java up to date?

If I recall correctly people were complaining about getting too many u2u's. Especially at the beginning it was a big issue because everyone was adding each other as friends. Adding as a foe was far less frequent so no one had really complained about that.

Again though, I'm saying this from memory and will be happy to look it up for you. I'm pretty sure that was it though...

I'd say to wait for SO to respond, haha. He knows more about compatibility and might know a quick fix for the system. Looks like it's a layering issue, to me.

As the last poster said, they did it to cut down friend U2Us there were just too many.

I think they left the foe notifications because if somebody puts you down as a foe it is nice to know so you can work out misunderstandings or differences before it goes further.
They like it when we work out our differences. Keeps it more friendly round here.

www.abovetopsecret.com...

That thread should adequately explain the whole u2u/friend issue.

Yep, mine is doing the same thing.

Should be a simple fix.

The "Gorilla Nation" broken link could be a result of changes in their site, the "Conspiracy" link does not work because it is pointing to "conspiracy.html" instead of "conspiracies.html".

That also happens to me, with all browsers I tested (Opera
9.64, IE 7, Firefox 3.5.1, Google Chrome 2.0.127.37 and Safari 3.2.1) in Windows Vista.

Another thing I noticed is that the animation uses around 60% of the processor (70% for Firefox and Safari), in any of the browsers tested, so I think it could be a Flash Player problem.

I know that Opera is a little used browser (although I think it's the best), but it should also be considered when designing web pages, the MATS home page looks like this.

Could your problem with Firefox be as simple as too many U2Us in your box? I had a similar problem at one time, and now pare them down to just those I really want to save.
