How would it affect you to have the existence of extraterrestrials confirmed?

Whether or not we could coexist would be the 1 billion dollar question.
I don't see them coming here and joining the rat race and getting a 9-5 job and working along side humans. I would hope if or when they do become known they at least leave us to live life and not enslave us or anything like that.

How would it effect me?

Well, it'd confirm every single thing I already know to be true about the big "G". I'd be happy in knowing we are insignificant beings unless if we make something of ourselves and give enough for the expansion of our future generations. You know, I don't think in that sense it'd effect me enough. I'm already very convinced that is the true, raw, reality of things.

Hmm...

Do I have an option of defecting? If so, I'm off this pretty little blue ball. Where's the nearest Galactic Senate? That's where I'd be heading. Get in with the leaders daughter, you know, and put in a good word for our species. Maybe they'll let us in, maybe they wont, but atleast I'd have given it a shot.

If the government ever decides to make public the existence of aliens, then it would be without the shadow of a doubt it is some disinformation part of a nasty plan. For me, I'd know how to recognize the disinformation, but the sheeple are easy impressed and controlled. It would be really scary if it happened, because it would mean that they are starting another stage in their devious plan, and the things we fear are another step closer to happening.

If you watch "The Forgotten" movie, I think you got yourself the answer.

Frankly, nothing would affect me, as if I knew everything.

I mean, if the extraterrestrial individual[s] will have to do something to me or my body, so the affection might take the place.

Or have they did already? I don't know.

Good thread, by the way, Digital_Reality.

I think that this forum is for UFO believers and all UFO believers would be relieved. I would ask non-believers and would be more interested in the answer they give because they would give some insight to see if we would be hostile towards the verification of extra terrestrial entities.

however, i think i speak for all when i say that the first reactions would be relief.

The second reaction would be 1001 questions starting with conspiracies and technology.

if someone feels that we are alone in the world. They are completely out of there mind. How can you believe that we are alone?

The answer to that question lies on Earth. if we were alone we would not have any other animals here with us.

Depends on the nature of the aliens...

Are they friendly? Are they (by our perceptions) hideous in appearance? Are they violent? What is our relation to them, how long have they been visiting Earth and for what purposes? Has the government really been covering up their existence?

If they're friendly astronauts on a exploratory mission to study us then I probably wouldn't be very affected by it, other than thinking how awesome it was knowing aliens were real... plus I'd wonder about the end of their study, would they come to a negative conclusion about us (I assume they would) and decide not to help us with technology? Would they think us like a virus and not allow us to spread into space, and wipe us out like a disease???

are they friendly?the good ones are if you do what they say the bad ones are not friendly regardless of what you do.hideous in appearance?not to each other but some of us that have met them in the past have fainted at the sight of them.are they violent?the good ones will kill a couple hundred million or more when they come to get rid of the trouble makers amongst us(criminals/murderers/pediophiles/homosexuals/those that violently resist them) the bad ones would kill all of us if the good ones let them.what is our relationship to them?the good ones made us.how long have they been visiting the earth?long before the good ones made us they made all the other creatures that have lived on the earth including the dinosaurs that were discontinued 65 million years ago.what do they want with us?the good ones want to change/metamorphize us into them if we can prove to their satisfaction that we will not go about to destroy the universe with the power that becoming one of them would enable us to have.the bad ones want to prevent us from ever becoming additional good ones

I agree, and rightly so. I have often wondered what would happen with the 6 billion people on the earth if there was a global announcement of aliens coming to land at a specific date, and then there was a slaughter of people by reverse engineered alien ships by the US government.

That would indeed make everybody on the planet think aliens are the enemy, and they would indeed group up together against the alien threat, just like the shadow government wants.

Under those conditions, would we accept any law changes to control and monitor people, specially if told that there are alien hybrids walking amongst us? Yes I believe so. Would us who think we know the real truth ever be heard? No I dont think so.

Lets pray that never happens.

on the surface and maybe initially, not much effect.

I would have the desire to travel and see the beauty of space, or at least watch some neat recordings of things if they have them

Denial of such a privilege, I would probably join a temple or something, but I always admired that lifestyle and contemplate it anyway

The deeper issue, the one which I could see major chages for this planet is ... them offering, us asking, or either side demanding technology. In theory, it should be quite good. Free energy, health treatments that really work, all that crazy good stuff. The problem is, some people are crazy, and, a moneyless society would drive them bonkers ... all those years of greed and covet would be for waste, and they wouldn't know how to live anymore. Remember, capitalists think that even the pure form of a Marxist society is bad without realizing its true meaning (idealist society like Star Trek TNG is set up as) ... and only see the corrupted versions that are more like dictatorships and tyrannies.

So, in a hopeful sesne, either no real change, or really positive change. In a negative sense, there will be an undefined period of chaos that should lead to a beneficial end ... unless they are like us, then we better watch out ... they will be killing us and robbing us of resources since they are more intelligent and advanced animal or what have you.

So essentially, how it would affect me would depend on the effects it has on others.

Think of the possibilities.

Great Idea! Some of those little dashboard hula girls that wiggle around as you drive? The Virgin of Guadalupe (sp?) is very popular here in Northern Colorado.

In reality confirmation of what logic tells us has to be true woudl really do nothing for me. Life would go on. It'd be really cool to know but as far as it's impact on my life it'd be minimal.

It's fairly predictable. We see some of it now. The religious people would claim the aliens were Demons. Neat simple answer. On many occasions I have heard religious folk call UFOs and such tricks of the devil. It's pretty sad to me that today in light of all the progress we have made a large portion of the world still clings to superstitious views.

The question is how would confirmation of exterrestrial life affect you. No where does it say proof UFO's are alien craft or that we are being visited. Confirmation can come in the form of alien microbes found drifting freely in space or found on a planetary body. It doesn't always have to be an alien craft or ET landing for a photo op.

From my experience with the aliens, I'd reach down an pinch me some tight little booty and wink, as I say, remember me!.

Than as they laser blast me to atomic particles scattered into every region of the universe. I'd be gone.

The little freaks!

Not much...honestly. I believe there is life on other planets, just a matter of time until we pick up some kind of radio or TV signal. It is one thing to know there is life out there, it is another thing to get "face to face". That I dont think can ever happen, but if it does it wont be for a very, very, very long time. Who knows we may be the first advanced culture....We might be the little green men.

Darn another question I cannot answer,

Of course the way it would affect me depends on whether they are good aliens or bad aliens.

It would be exciting and the most significant event in the history of mankind, but being I have had a couple encounters, one positive one negative, yea I wouldn't want to have another negative experience.

They are there/here.

On the religious upheaval (after Contact or whatever breakthrough with nonhumans) issue, I think the Western/monotheistic religions would have a lot harder time with it than any of the Eastern ones; or less-popular religions. Or there would seemingly be a bigger percentage of religious people freaking out among the Abrahamic religions than elsewhere; religious or secular. This is because the reality of intelligent nonhumans, if truly applicable, would be entirely pluralistic, collective in nature, or so it would very strongly seem. Contact would be the utter anitithesis of the notion of a Single Creator of the ENTIRE f-ing UNIVERSE who's the megalomaniacal "I AM THAT I AM" type who, like Saddam Hussein, likes to KILL people simply for doing things like simply LOOKING into the Ark of the Covenant... whether or not there's any truth to that Old Testament story or not. So be proud, Abrahamics. Your God is basically Saddam Hussein. And that goes for any Klingon Emperor (if you will) notions of the Second Coming of Jesus as well... Very, very sad indeed.

For me personally, let's get the ETs here, like, yesterday (assuming there's no malevolence). I'm not too strongly vested in anything of the world as we know it. There's not exactly anything (of any real substance) to SHOW for the current sociopolitical system. Or I don't see why we should have to lose any of the good aspects of life here as we know it... Sorry if I'm rambling a bit.

Discovering that we were not alone wouldnt change me as a person, but it would change humanity as a whole. The world would change very rapidly. It could spark religous wars and the biggest jump in technology the world has ever seen.

I would be excited as the possibility will open up for use earth folks to broaden our travel destinations without spending 6 months in a space travel training center or having to spend millions of dollars for a space trip.

Also I would be able to open an antique museum for existing gas guzzling transport technology, including my own car.

And ofcourse the possibility of not needing to die may also open up.

But I know that even if the news is confirmed, the powers to be will not liberalize the encounter and will adopt laws that prevent easy mingling among aliens and humans. Ofcourse they will not be able to implement the law just as they cannot implement censorship on the Internet.

Well that is all for now... Maybe I can think of a few more things later.
