We just had a "reportable event".
We just arrived back home. I was the first one in the house and I set my purse down and headed straight upstairs to get the tape recorder out of the
attic. Springer went straight to the kitchen and started doing something.
Needed info: Springer can't hear good. He has a hearing aid in one ear, and he has difficulty picking up higher frequency sounds. Bass sounds are
okay though.
I spent about a 1 minute or so downstairs when we came home. Set my purse down and then told Springer I was about to go get the recorder. He asked
if I needed him to get it for me. I said I thought I could get the attic door open. He said if I couldn't to let him know.
So I figure about a 1 minute or so on that exchange. The exchange took place while I was standing at the foot of the stairs, which is about 15 feet
from the downstairs bathroom.
So when I finally wrestled the attic door open, retrieved the recorder and then had a heck of a time getting the attic door all stowed away, I placed
the recorder in the computer room (upstairs) and headed back downstairs. When I got to the bottom of the stairs (where I had been standing before
when Springer and I had the exchange) I heard an extremely audible sound of water flowing out of a faucet. It was a high flow. I look over at
Springer who is doing something at the kitchen counter, and then turn toward the bathroom and realize it is coming from there....the bathroom sink is
flowing at a very high rate. I ask Springer "did you turn the water on in the bathroom?" He replies "No, I've been in here the whole time." I
say, "You didn't?" No, he confirms.
I walk over to the bathroom door, turn on the light, and the faucet is running. I call Springer over, "come look". And he walks over to see the
faucet running. The faucet was on full blast, all the way to its full-open stop.
It had to have been "turned on" after we entered the house, because I would have heard it while downstairs before coming up to get the recorder. It
was VERY audible to me.
