While I agree that NATO could end the war quickly (longer than 48 hours but certainly in a matter of weeks) there is the ever so slight complication of Russia having the world's largest stockpile of nuclear weapons and a sociopathic president.

Then why has NATO stood down while Biden has blocked every effort at negotiatons and continually 'poked the Bear'?

Here's some information to consider ....

Ukraine’s Foreign Minister just visited Damascus to meet the leader of the new terrorist regime in charge, now that the U.S. has removed the $10 million bounty on his head. It turns out Ukraine had long been assisting the Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) fighters with intelligence and drones, presumably paid for by us. We had also directly been sending aid to a terrorist network which over the years had variously been ascribed to al-Qaeda, Jabhat al-Nusra, ISIS, or ISIL.

Once HTS triumphed over Assad, the terror killings commenced. The Western press has ignored this because it conflicts with the narrative that Assad was the only mass murderer in that nation. HTS founder and leader Abu Mohammed al-Jawlani (aka Jolani) fought Americans long ago under the al-Qaeda leader, Abu Musab Zarqawi in Iraq.
After Assad’s fall, Ukraine shipped 500 tonnes of food aid to Syria. Ukraine’s Foreign Minister declared: “Ukraine will remain a linchpin to food security in Syria, even if our country is engaged in a war.” How much of the billions Biden keeps shipping to Ukraine will end up in Syria? Why does the State Department use Ukraine as a U.S. cutout? Because we can not overtly support a regime led by a man who fought Americans in Iraq and supported the 9/11 and October 7 attacks.

Once Assad fled Syria, the U.S. State Department wasted no time in removing al-Jawlani’s terrorist designation. U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs Barbara Leaf met with him in Damascus on December 20 after the terror group seized control on December 8. Per Leaf:

Got that? Al-Jawlani has dropped his goal of imposing sharia law. He is coming around on women’s rights. Imagine that. Which is worse: if Leaf actually believes this, or is too dense to know otherwise?

Poked the bear meaning supported Ukraine against Putin invasion?

'Poked the Bear' as in everybody is so afraid of Russia dropping nukes that every attempt to stop this war or de-escalate has been blocked at the direction of Joe Biden.

If world leaders were so worried about nukes flying they would have told Biden to pound sand when they attempted to set up negotiations.

That tells me how real this war is. Remenber, there's a lot of information in Ukraine that Biden must make sure Russia never gets its hands on, even if it means nuclear war.

Amazing how on ATS Biden is both a senile incompetent who couldn't turn his own shoe laces and a Machiavellian mastermind controling the war in Ukraine for his own benefit.

It's pretty simple. If Ukraine wanted support from the countries receiving the Russian gas, they would be compelled to not cease the flow until the contract had expired. I'm surprised OP is so confused by such a thing.

Firstly let me assure you LNG CAN be transported through pipelines. Please go and read Germanys new infrastructure for transporting LNG. New terminals at Ruegen Island and Wilhelmshaven for off loading LNG from ships to pipelines for distribution.
Now all ye of short memories, the EU did not make any decisions to cut back on Russian gas, this was forced upon them by the destruction of the Nordstream 1 and Nordstream 2.
Now I wonder who destroyed those???? Oh yes, the same people who are importing major shipments of LNG, nothing like blowing up your opponent for your profit margin.
But the bottom line will be just who will get the blame for the cut off (no matter if it's 20% or 10%) it's still a vast amount when your freezing.
And why now? Don't be stupid, it's because it's winter time and therefore the need greater.

Background:

• On 1 January, Ukraine cut off the transit of Russian gas, which had continued to supply several EU countries and the unrecognised republic of Transnistria in Moldova.

• Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico sharply criticised Zelenskyy for these actions and sent a letter to EU leaders expressing dissatisfaction with Ukraine's decisions and threatening to halt Slovakia's electricity supplies.

Some of the European countries may have decided to reduce Ukraines support.

Ukraine being a but p'd off about it maybe decided to pull the plug on the gas supplying them.

If the above is true of course. Some countries have had to massively increase fuel costs because of the gas issues.

The UK, has all the reserves in the North Sea apparently but still hammered the prices this year and last, blaming it on the fuel crisis in Europe.

EU et all (aka UK & US) stop all business, impound assets and Bank accounts etc., connected to and in Russia at the start of the war, but continue to receive oil and pay for it to Russia, via Ukraine. B. Zelensky will turn the tap back on when EU and NATO allies pay him more dosh and/or make Ukraine a member of NATO.
Am I about right? I'm very confused as to where this move on Kiev's part will benefit them given they too will have been getting oil/gas from Russia too, no?

Why do I get the feeling the new huge price hikes in our gas/oil/electric supplies in UK which have just been implemented, with another one due in April, are just a form of 'rationing' by our Government because of looming shortages? Never waste a good crisis as they say!

I've been scratching my head about this since first seeing it. It's just astonishing to me that Ukraine wouldn't have done this on day #1 following the Russian invasion!!

Really just goes to show you how much human lives are worth in this coflict (i.e. next to nothing in comparison to MONEY!)

I actually held off even reading this OP because I wanted to search and find some logical explanation for it other than what I've written above, but there isn't one.

The whole entire time all these people have been dying, Ukraine has been allowing Russian natural gas to flow through this pipeline. And now, it's a crisis all of a sudden, though not to Ukraine mind you, but rather the consumers of this gas. So, only now are they going to start screaming about this!
