That Russian gas has continued to flow to Europe has always been known. European countries had become way to reliant on Russian gas over last few decades and that takes time to reverse.
I believe the gas exports to Europe are now about 25% of what they were prior to 2022.
but but whatabout all that big money with Russian Gas going through Ukraine Pipelines all during this WAR!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
WHY NOW are they all oh-so concerned and firm?
Because breaking the agreement would have caused massive problems for countries that Ukraine desperately needed support from.
If that's true, why is Ukraine stopping the gas NOW??? Is it no longer important? Wake up 😁🤣
Because russian gas is now no where near as important to Europe as already said. With a few exceptions most European countries can now function without Russian gas at minimal impact.
Sorry facts don't agree with your bias.

The European Commission said on Wednesday the bloc was prepared for the stoppage, and gas infrastructure was "flexible enough to provide gas of non-Russian origin to central and eastern Europe via alternative routes".
Russia’s gas export has slowed down since the war, yes but I guess we’ll have to wait and see how they fare with being completely shutoff. I would expect their gas cost to significantly increase if others monopolize the EU market, which I’m sure they will.

The EU and UK are not that bothered:
BBC News - Era of cheap Russian gas to EU ends as transit across Ukraine stops
www.bbc.com...
"Russian gas was less than 10% of the EU's gas imports in 2023, according to the bloc. That figure was 40% in 2021. "
Moldova - which is not part of the EU - could be seriously affected by the end of the transit agreement. It generates much of its electricity at a power station fuelled by Russian gas. It also supplied the Russia-backed breakaway region of Transnistria, a small sliver of land sandwiched between Moldova and Ukraine where around 300,000 people live.
Slovakia has said it will pay more for alternative routes. Its energy regulator announced in early December that Gas prices for consumers would rise in 2025. Robert Fico, Slovakia's prime minister, said on Wednesday that the end of the deal would have "drastic" consequences for EU countries, but not on Russia, Reuters reported. On Friday, Fico - who had just made a surprise visit to Moscow for talks with Putin - threatened to stop supplying electricity to Ukraine. This prompted Zelensky to accuse Fico of helping Putin "fund the war and weaken Ukraine". "Fico is dragging Slovakia into Russia's attempts to cause more suffering for Ukrainians," the Ukrainian president said.
And they’re going to pay for those alternate gas routes, they’ve already said priced are going up in 25.

Most of the impact of moving off cheaper Russian gas will have already been felt. There are a number of different sources the EU now uses.

check
Russian gas continues to transit Ukraine in 2023, going to Austria, 6.0bcm p.a., Slovakia, 6.5bcm, and Hungary, 1.0bcm (part of their national supply). All three countries pay Russia in rubles.[176] Russian gas piped through Ukraine in 2023 was 14.4bcm, with only the Sudzha, Urengoy–Pomary–Uzhhorod pipeline operational.[177] Ukraine is contracted to provide the service until December 2024. Gazprom is obliged to provide the gas and pay the transit fees to Ukraine.🤣🤣

Russian liquefied natural gas imports to the EU have reached a record high this year despite the bloc’s attempt to cut off dependence on gas from the country following Moscow’s full-scale war on Ukraine.
Europe imported a record 16.5mn tonnes of Russian LNG as of mid-December, above last year’s imports of 15.18mn tonnes, according to commodities data provider Kpler. The amount is also higher than the last record of 15.21mn tonnes imported in 2022.
