AP also had a handful of stills from other areas damaged and they all looked similar as well. I wonder if we will ever find out how deep they went into the ground.

Not saying anything about that as I do agree it is quite a powerful thing. What I was correcting is that it didnt turn the target into dust or any of that wild stuff. It was basically 36 approximately 250kg metal chunks hitting the ground at mach jesus...while powerful the building was still standing and people were on the roof putting out fires around big holes where the warheads hit.

Ummm...a kinetic penetrator... is designed to penetrate several stories beneath the ground and there cause the destruction...that's why you don't see much damage on the surface...those missiles were designed to destroy the subsurface areas of that installation...the below ground laboratories...manufacturing facilities...and storage facilities...

That's what received the business end of those missiles...they were never meant to cause widespread destruction on the surface...

I completely understand that and even mention in the post at the top of this page I wonder how far underground they managed to get. All I was disputing is the OP claim that it turned the target to "dust" as if it was some massive asteroid impact or actual nuclear warhead. I am very clear on how the physics of a tungsten filled warhead going mach jesus hitting a solid object works. In all reality it could just as easily have over penetrated and dumped its energy under the target. Depends how deep it was buried and the materials involved I guess. Imagine if those first waves were explosive warheads and the subsequent ones were penetrators...
