The ones that are focusing on Putin's complaints are the same idiots that are condemning Israel for retaliatory attacks on HAMAS.

They can dish it out, but can't handle the consequences of their actions.

Eh, I don’t know of many members here that fit that criteria.

I’m sure some are lost on the irony of supporting one country who’s land was invaded… just like there are some lost on the fact that Iran is the belligerent in that region.

Who’s Iran’s biggest ally and supporter? Who recently signed a defense treaty with Iran.

So it’s perfectly consistent to be anti Iran, and anti Russia. The two are in the same club.

The problem I have is some here who equate “helping an ally defend themselves” with a “non-ally defending themselves from a belligerent nuclear power”.

Israel is an ally, which makes it our business.
Ukraine is not an ally, which makes it none of our business.

Apples and oranges.

Breaking! 🆘

U.S. Closes Kyiv Embassy Over ‘Significant Air Attack’ Intelligence

The U.S. embassy in Ukraine cited “specific information of a potential significant air attack” on Wednesday morning, ordering its citizens in the country to shelter in place, as tensions between America and the Russian Federation rise ever higher.

The American embassy compound in western Kyiv was closed on Wednesday morning, with a convoy of diplomatic vehicles apparently evacuating the buildings. A message posted by the embassy staff stated it had received “specific information of a potential significant air attack” that was thought to be planned for Wednesday. The closure was out of an “abundance of caution”, they said, but nevertheless embassy staff were told to shelter in place and American citizens in Ukraine told to be prepared to take shelter.

I don’t think Trump will have to own what happens in Russia/Ukraine unless he really does something wild. It started before him, and escalated before he took office.

I was merely pointing out his campaigning platform on being the peacemaker was new. It seemed more to be an evolution in policy to cater to his base who’ve become vehemently against our involvement.

Which, I can understand why many think it’s a waste of money. But there is a smaller segment who seem to be outright pro Russia, which is wild to me. That said, I don’t think their voices are loud enough to move the scales.

It’s a bit more nuanced than that.

But I’ll preface I’m for helping both within reason.

Israel has no treaties with us. Neither does Ukraine, but we did have the Budapest memorandum.

Also, the two are directly related seeing as Iran and Russia are allied. Iran was able to bolster itself from the conflict in Ukraine by providing Russia with drones in return for air defense and security agreements.

I think Israel is the only free and democratic country in their region, so that alone is worth support. But in terms of an ally, it’s been one sided. We’ve helped their defense on multiple occasions throughout their new history. I don’t remember a time that they provided some of their direct support in our endeavors, though I may be wrong.

I just don’t think it’s black and white for saying one is worthy and the other isn’t.

I don’t think that makes the original comment any more true.

People who condemn Israel for their efforts against Hamas are a small segment of society, probably even the left. The ones who were outright condemning Israel were some students, Islamic population, and an ultra minority of the media circuit and DC.

It would be like saying everyone critical of our involvement in Ukraine is anti Ukraine or pro Russia. Most just say it’s not our place, or not worth the money.

As I said earlier to another member though, there is a small segment who are pro Russia, which is just odd to me.

But I think the evidence that it’s a small segment who are anti Israel is the fact the left has been in power the last few years. The antisemitism got passed under that admin, which labels quite a bit of speech about Israel antisemitic. Doesn’t seem like anti Israel sentiment is thriving if both parties are teamed up on that matter.

Israel has been an ally since the 40’s.
Economic, strategic and military partners from day one.
We share science, agriculture, culture and history with each other.

Ukraine is a corrupt joke of an ex Soviet puppet that has only enriched the Biden crime family and Blackrock.

It really is black and white.

Ukraine has quite the history, but in its current form, is younger than almost all of us on the site. Most countries go through some growing pains, just like how Israel used to be socialist.

But Russia expansion is only going to hurt the Middle East considering they have such close ties with Iran.

Ukraine isn’t above criticism, but Russia seems to be far more damaging for the global environment if left unchecked.

They have security agreements with Iran and North Korea. Look at their close allies, and there’s a common theme, pure autocracy.

As far as Ukraine being a joke, I don’t think Russia can say that anymore with a straight face. They’re far smaller, and have kept than at bay for years and even occupy part of Russia. They’ve that with the help of mostly hand me downs against the alleged second most powerful military in the world (at the start).

Putin's not going to start a nuke war , He's playing tit for tat now he's seizing western assets and interest in Russia as retaliation for the US sanctions does not sound like he's planning on WW3

The US and its allies have frozen an estimated $300 billion in assets belonging to the Russian central bank since the escalation of the Ukraine conflict in February 2022. The bulk of the funds, around €197 billion ($207 billion), are being held at the Brussels-based clearinghouse Euroclear.

Euroclear has estimated that these Russian assets generated €5.15 billion ($5.4 billion) in interest in the first three quarters of this fiscal year.

While the finance minister did not elaborate on the amount of Western assets currently held in Russia, previous calculations by RIA Novosti put the figure at roughly equal the size of the Russian funds frozen abroad. The news agency reported that total foreign direct investments in the Russian economy by the EU, G7, Australia, and Switzerland amounted to $288 billion as of the end of 2022.

What i dont get about anyone on Putin or Russia's side.

Is that they have pretty much aligned themselves with Iran and North Korea.

That's who the man's allies now are.

And that's who they are turning to for help.

Looks like more players are joining in on the fun;

British Storm Shadow Missiles Fired By Ukraine Into Russia, Nordic Countries, Russia Prepare For Possible Nuclear Conflict. The Biden administration has also shifted its policy not to allow antipersonnel land mines to be sent to Ukraine, known to cause high number of civilian deaths.

Out of soldiers?

Keep supping the Kremlin's Kool Aid.

I don't support either side.
Total and complete waste of lives and money.

Ukraine resorting to kidnapping it's own people on streets is a clear sign of desperation and that Ukraine is OUT OF SOLDIERS

Pro-tip:
Out of soldiers = WAR IS LOST !!!

And No.
Putin has ZERO chance of invading Europe; as we have seen over the past several years, the Russian military is barely able to keep up against small Ukraine.
