You're proceeding from a false premise here. The 2A doesn't say you have the right to own some guns, but bans on others okay. It says there shall be NO infringements on your right to own guns. A ban on specific types is quite clearly an infringement.

If we were trying to ban the right to speak out against Republicans and we were like "Well, you still have the right to say other things so it's not a violation of the First Amendment," obviously that would be asinine.

It's really that simple. Democrats try to make it overly complicated to confuse people.
