I like the idea of him tossing a grenade into the party that wanted to 25th him.

Every so often especially since harris moved to the top of the ticket I started swinging by reddit and asking can you give me a reason to vote for her other than woman and black.

Good lord do they lose their minds, nobody even attempts to answer the question. Funny considering lot of those that left said we are just a right wing maga echo chamber of closet nazis here.

I think I have disagreed with everyone here at some point, so not sure how thats an echo chamber.

I think I've had disagreements with almost everyone here as well.

I don't get it either.

The middle east is buring and threatening to draw others into a greater war and the top two candidates for US president are arguing about whether or not being part Jamaican makes you a black women; and the current president is home in bed?

I would respectfully disagree. Trump is pointing out the awful identity politics being played by Kamala. She is being rebranded and Trump is calling it out. Trump is doing any and everything he can to get in front of as many potential voters to earn their vote.

Lol. This was supposed to go in this thread. Another Kamala thread has right by it and I guess I clicked on the wrong one.

So THIS GOES HERE.

Well you know that's a lie from Trump. Her identity politics (or use of being black to do things) goes back to at least college. So, 80s.

I don't want to spoon feed it, but you might want to look up both the significance of Howard University and The Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority. The Alpha chapter was established at Howard.

That's identifying and belonging to something.

ETA:

I think with the headline they used Asian was because there had already been a black woman Senator, so she could only be the first Indian-Asian. But she could go back to using black in 2020 as VP.

Like a totem pole of significance. If black is taken, then you move on to Asian. This is based on the level of importance each has in an HR standoff.

Well it looks like your the one that needs to look it up, just for you I will repost this link for you. Kinda like I'm spoon feedin' ya. Amirite?

And the Alpha Kappa Alpha is an African-American sorority and she is not African-American so there's that too. Sorry but you have your facts wrong. Thanks for participating in my thread. Good night, sleep tight and don't let the bed bugs bite.

So take it up with Howard and Alpha Kappa Alpha why they let an ONLY 25% black student in their mix? Jamaican heritage in the US is fairly African-American last time I checked. Whole West African slave heritage too..

I mean 12.5% is good enough for a Pechanga Casino share, so really, why should the black standard be so high?

Especially with education. I don't blame her. I'd play up my African-American heritage and go to the prestigious historically African-American school with the original African-American Sorority.

Clearly at some point in the 80s she used this to her advantage. So Trump is lying. She has embraced her African-American identity before. Unless you want to argue that she sought out the black sorority during rush week because she was embracing The Indian Subcontinent?

I really don't see how getting semantic over Jamaican is a counter to Trump taking things out of context again. He didn't even understand his own headlines, or did and shared it deceptively again.

She couldn't be the first woman Senator, or first black woman Senator, but she could still be the first Asian woman senator. It was next first up.

I disagree with most posters here.

Those questions the reporter asked were valid and should have been asked. Maybe a hello would have been nice but absolutely fair game. She wasn't being mean - she was doing her job.

Trump did NOT directly respond to most of them and he should have.

Though I give Trump credit for showing gup.

He did crap the bed today. The only question is, is he gonna roll around in it or is he gonna get up and change the sheets.

Between Desantis, Haley, Ramaswamy, Burgum and Trump, Trump won.

Like it or not, there was a primary process for one set of people.

Meanwhile RFK, Sanders just...exist.

I didn't say, suggest, or infer Trump didn't win, ONLY we deserve better candidates, no more no less.

I fully understand Harris hasn't been voted on by anybody in 2024 and fro now has essentially been installed.

Meanwhile ATS has this multiple page thread from two weeks ago:
Link

Democrats Have No Desire for Black Female Kamala Harris to be their Presidential Nominee.

With lots of discussion around her being black.

Now Trump questions her ethnicity, so of course, the very same people immediately state she is "not black".

ATS apparently viewed her as black. ATS did not claim she was changing her ethnicity at will. Yet, now must spin to make Dear Leader try to look better. Hint, it's impossible, and more birtherism, racism, feigned ignorance about biracial people will not help him in this race.

Would her father have been black enough for Trump to be one of the black people he denied housing to? Indeed.

Just got caught up on Trump's PA rally and Vance's AZ rally. I guess the campaign has decided to roll around in it.

You know Mike Johnson has to be facepalming after telling all of his people not to bring up race.

Well the fact that Kamala is of India and Jamaican decent, it's kind of ironic they're using her for the black and Asian vote...what ever happened to culture appropriation?

Only applicable for whites...?

Her family literally was a slave owner family, and no one cares.

She needs to be called out, just like rest of damn dems.

People have explained why they don't care. The lineage starting with a slave master/ slave rape should be something held against her? In your eyes? And she is both those ethnicities, so if she claimed to be white, you may have a point.

90% of Jamaica is Black.

The only member of her paternal lineage that is white is her great-great-great-great grandfather.

Great-great-great-great grandfather: 100% white
Great-great-great grandfather: 50% white
Great-great grandfather: 25% white
Great grandfather: 12.5% white
Grandfather: 6.25% white
Father: 3.125% white
Her: 1.5625% white

Until Loving v. Virginia in 1967, if you had a drop of non-white blood you were considered non-white. Until 1989, if you had a non-white parent you were listed as the same race as them.

She grew up with the world seeing her as a black child and treating her accordingly. So to deny her blackness is to turn a blind eye to the world she grew up in.
