He was sued because somehow he caused harm to people thousands of miles away with his voice. And the damages caused...by his voice are worth 1.5 billion dollars.....

I think inspiring people to send death threats, and threatening to dig up the dead, is a little more than causing harm with a voice? The Families of Sandy Hook had to endure harssment, and hate for years. The worse during a time of grief caused by the death of a child. He made outright lies and slander, which isn't anything to do with free speech.

Nobody is arguing that Alex Jones isn't a blowhard; he is.

You bring up firearms. Okay. Like firearms, there were a whole lot of blowhards in America before Alex Jones, and there's still a lot of blowhard windbags in America after Alex Jones. I guess I'm not seeing the connection. Alex Jones wasn't sued over anything to do with firearms. Alex Jones was sued because he 'hurted' people's 'feelz'. It had nothing to do with firearms. No firearm's feelz were hurt, they couldn't give a crap about Alex Jones.

As I noted previously Rachel Maddow and The View severely upset me and hurt my feelings, and they lie all the time about Trump. Are they being sued for a billion dollars? No. Should they be sued for a billion dollars? No. And neither should Alex Jones be sued for a billion dollars. All of them, love them or hate them, have the right to free speech.

That's really the bottom line point here.

There's a big difference between freedom of speech and libel/slander. When it's been done over years and used to make money, the consequences should be so how that anyone whos thinking the same, maybe think twice unless they have unrefuteable evidence.
