MrsDarko was online when we had the hack.

I do remember that account. The general impression what she was in the same boat as the rest of us, locked out and scratching her head. As for why the mods decided to delete this account once they got back control? I don't know beyond doubt if it was really her. What if it was as some kind of munity has taken place? Or some attempt at contact has been made, but has not gotten through the noise of the place?

If Darko is still locked out and don't know who to trust, it would limit his ability in doing something about it. With the breach of security done to this place, what you you do if DTOM and getting some message from someone you do not really know asking for the keys to this place, my guard would be up. I don't know if any kind of arrangements where setup in case of such an unusual situation. Mrs Darko member account is locked, I don't know if mods can see it?

Darko's account is not and provides some insight to his motivations with this site:

So, the questions we will be instructing the mods to ask when moderating the forum are:

1. "Is the post news worthy"

2. "Is the post titled in a way to incite an emotional response (particularly violence)?
note on point 2: 90% of people don't click on the link, the title is all they read so the title is even more important than the body itself).

3. Is the post written to inform, create a historical records, or is it written in a way and at a time that is meant to further the establishment's agenda? (currently trying to link anti-vax to anti-trans or in other words: "truthers" to "bigotry" (like they did with Trump).

4. Is the user being genuine in their post or do they have a history of posting the same thing over and over again?

A note on Censorship, Misinformation, Disinformation, and Cointelpro

With this account starting back in 2001, has been around here a long time with the flag and star count. Took down his pre owner profile, but still kept the account. Is into psychological war among other things with this thread. I can see his point in being worried about ATS coming under some kind of media assault. As the guy in the hot seat as some nut job leaves a manifesto here just before a rampage, some blowback if pushing the information bourrides too hard is on his radar.

How he starts this thread with the fundamentals of counter intelligence as division, this is one aspect with how things are playing out. The first purge to kick off Rogue Nation, the password block to start up Deny Ignorance. No longer is it just ATS should a media assaults' hit, but a larger internet community. Then how the divisions between these and others sites give the ring leaders something to play with.

If there is something more organized to how the password block went, perhaps getting some new location data as people had to re register or go through some new updated communication channel to get back in. Being built on old technology, some uses found a way to stay truly anonymous. I don't really know, unlikely. Is one of those questions if something more sinister is going on.

I know this site isnt hosted on someones work server because I've personally mapped every device connected to it and their host using osint tools. At least when it was hosted in Tempe, AZ if I recall correctly.

3. As has been noted by many here, domains are easy to renew, but the larger costs, the hosting costs, not so much...yet the site continues to work.

We have been put on pause.. MODS cant act fully. the site cannot be recoded. This has been down on purpose..The ghost hack of the Q thread tells you all you need to know. That was not a basement boy hack.
We are protected property.,. and actions peeps have taken here will in the future have wider consequence..

In going back down memory lane on this topic:

Previously Kwakakev on the ATS situation

With how the mods have gone since, gray zone not as dark. More on the Israel side with things over there. It is tough dealing with conflict, lot of political pressure on that one these days. Some discussion is still going on. Know this mess is bigger than ATS.

Maybe ATS is low on Darko's priority list, will get around to it when he can. Off somewhere doing something? Will say something when he knows what to say. It has been a character test when left to bounce around in the dark.

Another intangible value in 'good will' is reputation. With the history of a place like this and surviving the hits it has had, not just now but over the years as well. Some are saying just the domain name is worth a million dollars. I don't know? intangible is hard to put a real value on. Comes down to where someone does put their money on.

The certificate is there, I'd be more concerned with the version tls

According to Qualys SSL Labs abovetopsecret.com supports TLS 1.3

ATS was graded 'B' due to still allowing TLS 1.0 and 1.1

If Darko is still locked out and don't know who to trust, it would limit his ability in doing something about it.

Darko, as far as I know it, is the only person with direct access to the database. That uses a different access, not through the forum's login, so he could correct his own recovery email and password.

Mrs Darko member account is locked, I don't know if mods can see it?

The Mrs Darko account (with a space between "Mrs" and "Darko" is probably in need of a new recovery email and password, like all other accounts were. The MrsDarko is a different account.

The space on Mrs Darko's account gives an error when trying to see her profile, but if you replace the space with a "+" it works.

Mrs Darko

Please do so.

Forget worrying about the "owners".

There are none as far as can be determined.

Let us know what you find, amigo.

Thanks.

Didn't look like it was.

It was not the exact same account as the Mrs Darko one. They had to resign up along with the rest of us, it was very similar in name. From the tone, on the maybe list. I was watching that one hard, went bleep along with a few others high on the radar when the mods moved back in.

What everyone should concern themselves with are the T&C which those of us still charged with enforcing are following.

21a) Unauthorized Access: You will not attempt to access any protected sections of the Websites, or make use of any hacks, cracks, bug exploits, etc. to bypass or modify the features of the forum software or to obtain information beyond the allowed features of your account status. Doing so will result in immediate termination of your account.

Decades of maintaining this, we're not stopping unless or until an owner comes forward to change directions.

I will only say that the mods have other ways of knowing if it's the original account or an account made by other member.

I have not heard any mod comment on that, I don't know. Given the unusual circumstances of the event and the unusual circumstances of this website, dealing with the gray zone is what we do.

We're not going to publicly comment about the tools and methods of moderation, or about specific members and why actions were taken or what the actions were. If that's what "dealing with the Gray zone" entails, you'll need to do it elsewhere.

Thanks for posting the thread FCD', it was an interesting read!
Since the threat of the site going dark, it seems it has made many members wonder about the future and stability of the site, with many of us now dipping a toe in 2 slightly different puddles for that reason.
As the possibilty of doom approached, it was nice to see members show decorum and do a 'Wallace Hartley' as the thought of the site sinking came closer and want to get together as HMS ATS went down.

Like a few have said, I'm not sure ATS is important enough for an 'agency' to have bought it, in all it's years it's never had any real info posted from an insinder (excluding members posting from other sites) and we've only ever had rumours of 1 or 2 members being linked to some kind of attacks with no actual evidence of that either, the two main reasons an agency would be watching a website, I think.
I know 'they' can track data and info across vast swathes of the internet so 'watching and listening' to ATS seems a little silly to me?

I did think for a while that maybe someone famous had bought the site after a UFO sighting or paranormal experince and just wanted to be an unkown on the site. We all remember Springer taking a certain Take That member to the SkinWalker Ranch with him who had been on ATS. Do we have other 'celebrities' who are interested in the threads on ATS and don't want to be know or linked to something 'weird'. I could see someone with a fair amount of money who had an experience, maybe getting bored after a year not finding the answers, and just forgetting about the place?
Ocams razor and all that?

Something of value is derived from the site.

If someone is paying for the expenses, but you're not seeing an obvious revenue stream, you can bet whatever is "valuable" serves an objective you probably won't like.

As many have noted over the years, and as I have again here noted recently, there has always been a theme of some, more covert undertone here on ATS. I am convinced, now, more than ever before, this is true. Here is my reasoning...

So the moderators are part of the Deep State and need to be drained away like the rest of the swamp? Or are they Illuminati/New World Order/Lizard Confederation?
