I appreciate you bringing this up.
I posted a thread asking some of these same questions.
It was moved to the trash bin in 15 minutes.
It can’t be that expensive.
I have have sites before.
Not near as big as this site though.
I don’t want to see this site go under.
I have not been able to post a picture in three years.
That’s why I quit making threads.
Anyhow, I thought web sites were public information.
Guess not…

Hmm... have you tried going here in another Browser widow to Access your ATS Photo Library ?

Do you recall if they were all mud-pit? Because some of them don't appear to be. (although all of them 404 now, so there's no sub-forum in the URL, hence my question).

Well, let's consider that for a moment; why would some group want to ban selected members from a particular political persuasion or ideology? We can't allow ourselves to get lulled into the notion that these groups are unbiased (if they exist); on the contrary, chances are they are highly biased. Soooo...why get distracted by opposing viewpoints of your target focus? Remove the "noise', so you can study your subject more closely. And, by doing so, add fuel to your focus' existing fire. And/or, see how far you can push them (as well as how they react) with the agenda driven narrative.
I'm not saying this is the case, just more responding to your devil's advocate point.
edit - In other words, I would sincerely doubt there is anything truly 'scientific' about such an exercise, but rather a solution in search of a problem.

Yes, despite the elevated blood pressure levels and venon spewing which occasionally took place in the mud-pit, there was also an avalanche of really well thought out and informed debates there as well. I suspect it was a nightmare to moderate, but that doesn't change what it was.

I’ve been thinking this for a while as well.
ATS members are a decent cross-cut of society as a whole. We would make a good study.
Additionally the condition of ATS due to the Darko abandonment is a great study as well.
Not sure if it’s been mentioned (I’m at work but trying to keep up) but…
It has shown how people react after an event that leaves no governance and a feeling of impending doom.
Some members ran amuck, some went on revenge rampages, others tried to hold it together, some banded together to deflect attacks on others.
Members met at the bug out point (Discord).
Plans were made to reinstall local government and Mods were reinstated.
The list goes on. I’ve been thinking about starting a thread on that for a while but unfortunately time didn’t allow.

Thanks for the effort in your reply! This is helpful. Appreciated.

Thanks again!
If the mods allow it and the members want it, I'd be happy to do a pen test on the entire domain and network area free of charge

Would the 404'd threads be retrievable from the Wayback Machine? I have no idea how that thing works, so sorry if that's a dumb question.

I missed all of this. sounds like it would have been very interesting to watch from a study perspective.
