Look into his business partners and his wifes families ties to the Russian Mob. There is a lot about Cohen prior to and during his tenure with Trump.

He is a wanna be tough guy. He loves being called the Fixer till his balls dropped off and he flipped like a rat. The ONLY one to do it.
