If paying for her silence is swaying the election, then withholding baby Biden's laptop is swaying the election. If they can prosecute for one they can prosecute for the other. They won't, of course, but the road goes both ways.

Cohen disguised them as legal fees. He has nothing documented that says Donald Trump authorized these payments. Instead, he created an LLC himself and paid the monies.

Then, he had to get the money back.

If he had not been picked up on his other charges, and flipped, this would not even be an issue.

The only witnesses needed are those who created the entries and paid Cohen. None of them are Trump. That would be his CFO and accounting team.

37 charges equates to the same 3 things, a GL entry, a check and an invoice multiple times because of multiple payments. If you are ignorant and had no idea of what is actually going on you would think this was a major case of fraud.

This is worse than the valuation case as far as any evidence.

in order for this to not be a sad joke, wouldn't it be essential to have something proving Trump only wanted this silenced because of the optics of the campaign, (which was already destroyed by Hope Hicks) and nothing to do with wanting to shield his family from it? I only ask as I remember the John Edwards case which apparently Alvin Bragg has not heard of.

And then, if it was proven that Trump was only paying horse face off because of the campaign, is that a crime? I think the DA has manufactured the law on this one.

That’s the thing.
They say it was campaign interference but they can’t prove it.
They would have to prove Trump wouldn’t have tried to hide it otherwise.
Nobody who has a family would believe that it was only for the campaign.
No way Jose.
It is simply a bridge too far.

Turn it around.
The blackmail attempt was only initiated when it was because Trump was running for President.
Isn't a blackmail/extortion threat election interference?

For that matter...isn't this entire case being brought when and in the manner it has been brought...DEFINITELY election interference?

That as well.
The extortion plans were all but admitted to by the party’s to them and have immunity.
Insane.

They had a nice little racket going between the tabloids and media, the pornographers, and the greasy lawyers directing all the traffic.
They all made a ton of money too.

I’m hearing Micheal Cohen is smashing it on the stand, coming across as calm and confident and the prosecution is corroborating everything he says with documents, texts, phone records and whatnot.

Makes sense to me though, been watching him on YouTube for the past few months, his an intelligent and likable character. The right wing media were trying to portray him as some unhinged criminal… that’s not what the jury are going to see.

I think at this point, the MAGA crowd need to start preparing themselves for the highly likely reality of Trump being a convicted felon within the next few weeks.

Actually Cohen's statements have not been proven with anything entered into evidence. 😀

I can’t find the post, but I remember you saying Cohen will be a train wreck (paraphrasing) on the stand… worse than Stormy, I think you said. But here we are 2 days in and by what I’ve heard his doing extremely well.

I don’t know why it would come as a surprise either. I mean, he was Trumps personal lawyer… and Trump only hires the best, right?

I agree. I tried to go at this with a clean slate.

And I read Trump’s lawyer was all over the place. He wasn’t able to connect his points.

Thursday should be interesting.

Blanche pressed Cohen to say that he "lied to them" about the Trump Organization's proposal to build a Trump-branded skyscraper in Moscow. Cohen replied: "Yes, the information I gave was not accurate."

Trump's lawyer kept pressing: "Was it a lie?"

"I don't know if I would characterize it as a lie," Cohen replied. "It was inaccurate."

Blanche did not relent: "Was it a lie?"

Cohen: "It wasn’t a lie, it wasn’t truthful, if you want to call it a lie we can call it a lie, I believe the information I gave them is inaccurate."

Blanche: "But you are not testifying it’s a lie?"

Cohen: "Sure, I’ll say it’s a lie."

How is that a mess?

Personally, I thought it was funny and entertaining.

Being a juror can be boring. I bet they loved following that exchange.

Next thing we know, you’ll be sending Cohen love letters.

Your quite smitten with the professional liar eh?
