We know who the EC elected. But not the voters.

Donald Trump has never won the popular vote. He didn't win the popular vote in 2016 and he didn't win it in 2020.

So? Irrelevant.

We are talking about the republican party vote.

Trump also lost big time in 2020, yet people would endorse the big loser as Speaker and even bring him back as President!

Cheney can run again, most likely run as President, don't see her getting 1% of the vote though. Trump can run as President too, do you agree? He might get a few more than 1% too.

OK, some people jokingly suggest Trump, and you now suggest Chanay, so I'll suggest her Dad, we can dig him up and just let him sit in the chair. Are we good now?

By "EC", do you mean the Electoral College? Like how in 2016, Donald Trump won the Electoral College, but "not the voters (popular vote)? Is that what you mean?

Liz Cheney lost a tiny Montana election, but she gained the support of millions of Americans when she put country before party.

welll yeah, the EC is the Electoral College.

I don't know who won the national popular vote because of the millions of unvalidated signatures on millions of pandemic excused mail-in votes that states were not prepared to validate.

Thats a fact.

Liz Cheney is loved by dems, but not her constituents. Nothing to be proud of.

Scalise is.

Jordan didnt want this job, turned it down twice.

He is the choice of republican voters, by far.

That is petty #. They are all acting like children and anyone who has voted against Jordan must be held accountable in the next election. You have sitting Democrats who STILL say Trump was not legit.

The US Congress is the most corrupt political system on the planet.

Trump was never legit, even as the asterisk president.
Jordan is not a leader, never passed a bill , has that whole sexual abuse scandal behind him that people here make excuses for. Not a good look for a party that not too long ago, elected a sexual abuser as speaker.
It’s a plank in the platform now? “Grab em by the …”

On the other hand, I am amused and a bit happy that GOP has decided to set their own hair on fire.

Also, yeah Trump lost.
Jordan will receive fewer votes on the third round, I think.
And you want to make revenge lists of people.

Interesting logic.

Too bad its BS.

See, if the primary polling, even with bias and margins of error are exponentially greater, then you trying to argue Trump not being the majority of constituents desire is beyond stupid.

But stupid arguments are your MO, so you just keep doin you X.

She lost most of her support by proving she was a RINO.

The 2019-2020 Congress was way more successful at getting legislation signed into law despite the fact that the Dems had a more narrow majority in the House than the GOP has now.

That would indicate that the Dems were more willing to compromise with the GOP than the current GOP is willing to compromise with the Dems.

So actually looking it up...

Congress 118 so far 8 laws Senate D House R What is up with that? Dems not passing anything.
Congress 117 had 365 laws Senate R House D
Congress 116 had 344 laws 2019-2020 Senate R House D
Congress 115 had 442 laws Senate R House R

So what is it you are talking about...lol

And there is it. Republicans aren't conservatives anymore, far from it. They don't represent "law and order" either. The only thing that Republicans represent or stand for is Donald Trump and whatever his grievance de jour happens to be.

The fact that this dysfunctional GOP led House is would rather kowtow to their extremist minority than work on passing meaningful legislation.

Well, we will see when she runs for president. I guess the Dems can vote for her. Her dad was Darth Cheney, so how could she look worse?

Let's not get ahead of ourselves, here. This thread is about suggestions for Speaker of the House. Liz Cheney is equally as "not an elected Representative" and as equally, well almost, as controversial as Donald Trump.
