Somebody made it up.... probably the person I heard it from.

Let's see how things play out today. The prediction is that there will be 13-15 more votes against Jordan in the next round.

It's not my prediction. It's what the media is being told by their sources saying this is all a plan to humiliate Jordan.

yet you nor they have a named source.... typical

There were 15 vote rounds for McCathy. Why is anyone predicting anything yet?

This temporary speaker thing.... is that person 3rd in line to POTUS right now? Why are dems pushing to keep the current arrangement in place? Wouldnt that be unconstitutional?

McHenry is not in the line of succession. As the Speaker's chair is officially vacant, the person in line after Kamala is the Senate president pro tempore Patty Murray.

Or they actually want a functioning government. Something that will not happen under Jordan.

The US House has either been on vacation or on strike 85% of the time since July 24th. All is well. Important things still get done.

Word out of DC this morning is that Jordan will announce there will not be a third round of voting today and instead he is going to support empowering McHenry with temporary authority. Jordan will remain the Speaker designee, which will allow him to call a vote for Speaker at any time.

Jordan knows he doesn't have the votes and is losing support every round. He's hoping this temporary measure will give him time to shore up additional support before going to another vote.

Some seem to forget/ignore we are a Democratic Republic -- not a dictatorship.

I, for one, am getting really tired of it.

We need a functional government "hands across the aisle".

Jordan is throwing in the towel and the guy with the bow tie is going to be the speaker until next December 31st 2024.

Since they're only in session 119 days a year...so what.

As long as investigations of the Biden crime family continue, which they have been, and will continue to do.

a reply to: CoyoteAngelsYou do not come across as a victim to me CA, so why would I call you one? The victim issue I was speaking of is a cloak that can be worn by people who seek to excuse their own inability to function to the degree they believe themselves to be entitled. From what I have read of your post here, this does not appear to be you,

I cannot see why this would not get at least a modicum of bipartisan support.

Jordan's base on the far Right are apparently furious. Less than 24 hours ago he had them campaigning against this plan and telling them he would never go along with it.

So, what do you think? Might they just turn on him and continue with their tantrums or play along with him shooting for a long game.

McHenry will age 20 years over the next 3 months.

He will be receiving everything, from suitcases of money, to super bowl tickets, to fish wrapped in newspapers.

I don't see Jordan ever being able to rally the support needed. My best guess is that by the time McHenry's two months is up, the GOP will realize the easiest option for them is to just make it permanent and officially vote him in as Speaker.

By the way, in case anyone is wondering how things are going in the GOP's conference, McCarthy just screamed at Gaetz to sit down when tried to go up to the microphone while Bost reportedly lunged at him.

Or burn effigies of monkey’s for our first black president.

Stash your ego — a Democratic Republic needs to represent all citizens.

Whoever is finally elected needs to “reach across the aisle”.

so much fun huh? Many here like to point to the Biden world as clown world, but clearly this is a three ring circus with the clowns in the staring role.
