The Dems just want to use it as a way to say that the Republican Party is in total chaos.

It's also comeuppance for McCarthy being a complete asshat. In the end his ambition was his own undoing. He so desperately wanted to be Speaker that he promised crazy people crazy things and then gave them the weapon that would bring him down.

A Republican rep said exactly that on Twitter. He said that McCarthy's only response to him was, "I just want to be Speaker".

Reports are coming in that Republicans are calling Dems and literally begging them to save McCarthy's job.

Where are the 5 missing people who are supposed to be available to vote? Considering Pelosi is out of town.

They went ahead and declared it vacant! Whew! McCarthy is OUT!

Before he was elected Speaker, McCarthy promised not to work with the opposition and to curb their spending. Gaetz promised that if McCarthy broke his promise he would hold him accountable. One of them keep their promise.

Sounds like Gaetz's reward is going to be expulsion from the House Republican Conference and, depending on who the next Speaker ends up being, expulsion from the House altogether.

The Continuing Resolution should not have been passed. The US needs an actual budget. Am I glad to see him gone, no, but he was given a chance and 214 of his constituents voted him out.

This was not a fringe vote.

8 republicans voted in favored rest were Democrats wanting to see the GOP in chaos heading into the election cycle.

Mission accomplished gaetz you played your part well, first scuttled the freedom caucus cr and then ousted McCarthy.

Who does this benefit is what everyone should be asking, cause no FC member will win the seat which means it has to be a moderate and we are right back to this again.

Gaetz has very few, if any, allies right now. We know the Dems can't stand him. Apparently very few Republicans can stand him. If an expulsion were brought forward it may be on of the few pieces of bipartisan legislation this Congress passes.

As someone who keeps up on everything Trump, if House Republicans turn on Gaetz, they are risking their own seats in their next election. Gaetz is the only person who doesn't care what he has to give up in order to do what his constituents want him to do. He also won't give up until there are term limits, so he doesn't really care how much longer he's in there, unlike most of them.
