I answered it! I disagree! And I have explained why! Biologically, a trans woman does not have any advantage in a beauty contest! And I have no problems with that at all!

Course a trans woman is a biological male! Hence the reason I do not agree with a trans woman competing in womens sport.

Ive read a lot of arguements saying that transgenderism is body dysmorphia or a similiar mental illness. However, i don't think we have enough knowledge to make concrete conclusions. It was only 20 years ago or so that many people thought homosexuality was a mental illness that could be cured. We have found out differn't since then.

Point being; wether or not transgenderism can be considered a mental disorder - what matter is if it can be reversed with therapy. If it cannot, then how does calling trans people "mentally ill" help them?

While I understand wanting to limit minors from life changing surgery or hormone treatment and preventing trans women from playing in women's sports; I think its cruel to just blanket label all trans as mentally ill people. I think we should respect them, even if you don't want to use pronouns or consider them "women". But I think just showing a level of respect and understanding is better than just calling them all mentally ill.

I say this after a family friend came out as transgender. After many years of being a man, she is now a trans woman. It takes a lot to make such a huge change and i believe there are many factors at play to understanding this phenomenon.

As I said before.... gay or straight is behavior-based, so society decides what behaviors are OK all the time. Trans is an alternate reality-based concept that biology has nothing to do with gender and it is only in the mind. Two very different things that people want to put in the same bucket just because the letters are both in LGBTQIA+.

As long as people are not hurting smyone, what exactly is the problem here? On this site I see people throwing around mental illness. Was not that long ago thst being gay was also classed as a mental illness!

It's just crazing that people are putting all their effort into this instead of say, child abusers, rapists etc How know, those people that actually want to hurt you and your children!

Gender dysphoria IS a mental illness, whether people want to accept it or not. Thinking you're a girl when you were born male is no different than thinking your fat when you are suffering from anorexia.

Dysphoria: A state of feeling very unhappy, uneasy, or dissatisfied.

Every day more and more evidence is coming forth that whacking off body parts does nothing to ease the angst they feel; quite the opposite, it compounds their mental health issues once the novelty of their new body has worn off and they realize nothing has changed the unhappiness that is rooted in their brain.

People are free to think anything they like, but in reality, there is no way on this earth that a man can become a woman or vice versa. They can pretend, they can dress up, they can even lop off their protruding parts. But in the end, they will always be what they were when they were born. If you factor that reality in, it sure starts to look like a mental illness.

Again! Wrong! It's completly different to dysphoria! Yes, you will get trans people who are still not happy! You eill get gay people who come out, and they are still not happy! That does not mean its all trans and gay people does it!

See, I xm in the UK, which is more forward thinking that most counties on accepting people for who they are as long as they are not hurting anything!

For example, in my home city, there is a big gay and trans community, and i know a lot of gsy and trans people who are absolutley fine and living a happy life, and I am happy that they can!

We had the same thing happen eith gay people back in the day, eith sll darts of stuff thrown at them! They were perverts, was a mental illness, even caused aids!

But we do not think that now don't we! Well, sane people don't anyway!

That would be assuming that all trans people are esentially unhappy with their body even after transition. Is there any studies to show this? Seems like a simple assumption for a complex issue.
