At this point, if I were them. I would of hoped for the implosion. At least they would of had no idea what hit them when they went and didn't suffer for days.

The number of uninformed, hate-filled little communist dirtbags celebrating the (presumed) deaths of these people because they're rich is disgusting. And they think they're compassionate and tolerant.

You are among the most narrow-minded, ignorant people on Earth.

You could be academically honest and throw in the little slice of life acknowledging that to become a billionaire being a nice person is not in the same plan. Otherwise, celebrating death for no reason is petty, besides being able to see the wreak would be attractive because I have long joyed over the other submerssibles that have been to the sight and brought back new pictures from their exploits.

People can piss & moan all ya want, but these are in effect financial benefactors supporting the actual scientists (ride-alongs also have to help collect samples & data, from what I've read, so not a Pleasure Cruise)

The deeper the ocean gets, the harder & more expensive the exploration & study costs. I think we can all agree without the rich Hamishes & James out there, the Jaques have a harder job of it

The underwater network would have easily heard if it went, but the problem is that the guys running the network almost certainly aren't going to release that until they clean up a lot of information about how sensitive the network is.

Sure, makes sense.

If things were in your face it wouldn't be a complex World we live in, many reasons why. Do some research and the answers will smack you in your face!!!!

So you can't provide a reason?

I know this is a conspiracy site, spent a long time here..but not everything is a conspiracy. Provide a compelling reason the WEF is involved in this. I'm certainly not a fan of WEF, but you made the claim, you need to back it..that's how ATS works.

Cheers

I thought the very same thing, WEF red flag all over this, thats why they won't allow outside help! a reply to: TheLyingCat

Oh jeez..for what purpose???

SMGDH

Might want to look into the arguments that the WEF board member was having with Schwab and was set to possibly surpass him as wef chairman next fall

Yes, they are a den of snakes, but what does that have to do with this situation?

You know me and know I could be a lot more cruel and insensitive. I could have made comments about all the money in the world can't save you or commentary as an artist and irony about being in a spot no one else can see but you cant see it either because the power is out. I could have made jokes about being skeptical about going on a submarine without at least 1 woman and a bottle of booze aboard, I could be insensitive about folks talking about the wef and brought up donald JR comments about it. The truth really is for me, I don't like the ideas of folks expoloring a failure involving dead folks because of cheaping out to see other folks want to check it out cheaping out with more money and resources than I could or ever wish for. Think about where I am at on this for a moment please? I can't say that this isn't the most ironic and boyhood romantic story of this century, explorers lost on an expedition to look at a failed mission because the plan was so backwards that 100s of folks died because there were not enough life boats, theories about twin ships manufactured in Ireland, Effin James Cameron, and rich folks cheaping out, to me I feel sorry for these folks because I know the pain of mental issues coming with confinement in tight places not natural but also know the other parts of dealing with dire situations when you know either your going to die or something happens thats a miracle. Its a cruel world.

ETA: Good to see you again old friend!

IDK about Orcas, but Belugas can apparenly dive down to 600 meters. Since they apparenly have some problems locating the exact position for the source of the banging sounds / distress signal knocking, maybe they could've let Hvaldimir help locate them, if they're on the surface or no deeper than 600 meters. Belugas are small and could maybe be transported by a plane? It's true that the Orcas seems to be on the warpath for some reason. At least near Spain. I wonder how far down they can dive? They are much bigger than Belugas. They lost contact with the submersible at around 2000 - 2300 meters?

Sperm whales can go down a few km in depth, I think one or two even a bit deeper.

Not sure if this was already posted but the CEO said he didn't want to hire 50 year old white guys because they weren't inspirational.

Ageism is alive and well. This is done for one of two reasons:

1. You can pay younger people less - they are basically working for resume experience. Of course, it's only short-term because their mistakes can be very costly.

2. The people backing you (usually venture capital) are insisting on a racial and age back ground.

Well there's no evidence it is necessarily "far down".
It could be bopping along the surface.
Although I agree - chances not so great.

It's reasonable to assume they got very deep though, but it's possible the safety devices let it surface, no way to open it from the inside, and if they could, it would sink. I think maybe less than half a days air left.

The chances of a happy ending are extremely slim to none

There are several more reasons, one that come to my mind is:

He seem to have been fed up with the old experienced people bringing construction & design flaws into question to him & also the older experienced people both close to him and industry expert had warned him multiple times about the safety implications of the design & the project itself, he is also quoted as to saying that the extreme safety aspect of the industry harms innovations...so his project met several pushbacks from his peers (rightfully so) which seemed to really annoy him

So, him wanting to hire younger people could also be that they usually are to afraid to speak up to an "authoritative" figure like their boss & CEO, meaning he could fasttrack alot of decisions on his projects without much pushback from them, kinda goes back to your #1: working for a resume or as a junior, they are there for getting experience so they are there to learn, if the boss says something, they maybe assume he is right & don't even think about any pushbacks at all, even when a design choice is questionable

The old people are there to implement their knownledge from years of experience, the younger ones are there to get experience that they maybe are lacking, 2 very different mindsets, the latter one is much more favorable for the CEO who wanted to cut corners and "innovate" without pusbacks..."just do what i tell you to"

That is just an estimate. With the cold conditions, they will consume oxygen faster by shivering to stay warm.

What if they all been mediating the whole time though? It would add hours

The amount of air is probably +/- an hour or two, depending on conditions, and the state of the vessels occupants..those poor souls.
