Ukraine
NATO
The Cossacks
Some unknown third party that is benefitting from the war there.

NATO you say? Well, yes NATO. Look at the most likely suspects in the Nord Gas line explosions, the US and UK. I think we might need to rethink what's going on and why.

The destruction of the dam has already flooded over 80 towns and hundreds of villages. It's created a huge ecological disaster and is a critical escalation of the war.

I was just thinking about 0311Warrior the other day. I wouldn't think he was one of the political prisoners from J6, but I guess we really don't know either way. I had always assumed that he was an infantry rifleman in the Marines (obviously due to his screen name) and thought he was part of some task force or that he was former marine doing some type of private contractor work with the tunnels or whatever. Still, it's weird that someone brought him up right after I was wondering what happened to him.

Also - I know we lost Yig/Onehuman a little while back (I don't remember where now, but I've watched a few videos Yig put out and enjoyed them) and I recognize the JanAmosComenius screen name - but I'm not familiar with their posts... but did we actually "lose" Tigertatzen? I know she was pretty active in the early Q threads and was very passionate about children, and I know she ended up dropping out of the threads for some reason (in Q thread #5), but are you saying that we lost her lost her - or that she just doesn't post on ATS any more? If she's truly "gone" that makes me sad. She seemed really likeable and had so much passion and fire!

THE HAGUE, June 6 (Reuters) - The Geneva Conventions and its protocols explicitly ban war-time attacks on "installations containing dangerous forces" such as dams due to the risk posed to civilians, a prohibition likely to come into focus after the destruction of a huge Ukrainian dam.

Ukraine accused Russia on Tuesday of blowing up the Nova Kakhovka dam on the Dnipro River that separates Russian and Ukrainian forces in southern Ukraine, inundating a populated region of the war zone and forcing villagers to flee.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Ukraine sabotaged the dam to distract attention from its faltering counteroffensive.

The 1949 Geneva Convention's subsequent protocolsspecifically cover attacks on "installations containing dangerous forces", such as hydroelectric dams. Such installations should not be attacked even if they are legitimate military objectives, "if such attack may cause the release of dangerous forces and consequent severe losses among the civilian population", the protocols, dating from 1977 say.

There is no mention of dams in the 1998 founding statute of the International Criminal Court. But the statute does criminalise "intentionally launching an attack in the knowledge that such attack will cause incidental loss of life or injury to civilians or damage to civilian objects or widespread, long-term and severe damage to the natural environment which would be clearly excessive in relation to the concrete and direct overall military advantage anticipated".
