Puerto Ricans were offered the trip to Florida after the Hurricane, most of the had families established in Florida, I know many are people I know.

Also Puerto Ricans are Americans, by birth.

Big difference.

Right now what is going on in the US is not "immigration" is an invasion and about to get worst tomorrow

Is incomprehensible how our tax dollars are going to support this invasion.

You mean the same government that has reached the debt ceiling again for almost the 100th time.

Is this even America anymore? Maybe we are all immigrants now, and we are all owned by our debtors.

Maybe they will just eliminate the unprofitable, and auction off the rest of us.

For the record, I just got some people to come haul junk for me for pretty cheap. It was a white guy and a black guy. Pretty sure they're US citizens.

My dad has someone who cuts his lawn. White guy. I know for a fact he's a citizen because I grew up with his son.

The idea that you can ONLY get illegals to do this kind of work is demonstrably false.

If illegal immigrants can't get driving licenses does it not stand to reason junk haulers would not be immigrants?

Do you honestly believe that people who enter the country illegally will follow the rest of our laws faithfully, like laws that require a license to drive?

Let me guess, you also believe that someone intent on murder will change their mind if there's a "gun-free zone" sign on the door to the building he intends to shoot up?

I guess a lot of people did not notice about 500k Puerto Ricans have come to Central Florida after Hurricane Maria. Plenty of labor for the needs of farming, hospitality and construction here in Florida.

It used to be Mexicans and many of them were illegals, they are still here, just not in the numbers of the PR that was immigrated since 2017.

Tent cities are everywhere now in Central Florida and crime is skyrocketing. The infrastructure is not here.

The part that is hard is that those who have immigrated get money from the government, money for housing and many do not work so you have a large population living but not helping with jobs.

We do not need anymore in Florida and glad that DeSantis signed this.

"Puerto Rico is a Caribbean island and unincorporated territory of the United States with official Commonwealth status."

I get what you're saying but I genuinely don't think it's possible to illegally immigrate to another part of your own country.

Oh this is the second part, racial profiling will be totally legal in Florida if this passes.

If your skin is a little too dark, or if you look like you might be an immigrant get ready for an uphill battle!

'People aren't showing up to work,' South Florida workers already feeling heat of immigration bill

"Many workers are leaving, thinking they're going to be deported, so they're going to other states," says Jose, an employee. "Everyone is really uneasy…we just want to work to help our families."

None of that is true.. You are using one story
from south florida and one areas experience..
The biggest migrant work is picking oranges..
I would know I did it for 6 years.
They come here for the 2 orange seasons we lived on an orange picking
commune and paid $10 an hour
in a state where at the time minimum wage was $7.50
When we reached 45% of the work done
that first 45% goes towards all the housing feeding clothing
on the orange picking commune. Then we would pocket ALL of the other 55%
plus we got points (paid more for more bins not just one rate)
PER orange bin picked.
The people I worked and translated with WERE NOT ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT 'FAKE ASYLUM'
seekers we are seeing now. THEY WERE LEGAL MIGRANT workers and there was not
and IS NOT ANY shortage of them so your whole OP is just misguided..
The construction sites ARE LOADED with migrant workers.
My brother owns a construction company. I know many people who work in construction
skilled work who work with 'MIGRANT WORKERS' they are GREAT JOBS
they ARE HARD TO GET !!
I have no idea what you are
talking about they do not need
ANY illegal immigrant asylum seekers..
AT ALL

I saw this online the other day. For those in the Milwaukee and surrounding areas, Sobelmans has been a long time
Fixture, this one is newer but still been around a bit but can’t find workers..

www.wisn.com...

The restaurant's owner, Dave Sobelman, said the reason for the closure is a lack of staff. He said they've adjusted wages post-COVID, but he's struggled to find workers, whether its older employees who retired through the pandemic or hiring students.

12,000 students on campus, I don't know," Dave Sobleman said.

"It's kind of surprising that even the student body here doesn't really leap at that job opportunity," sophomore Aidan Wojciechowski said.

And this.
apnews.com...

Bill would allow 14-year-olds to serve alcohol

They said their idea “creates a simple solution” to the state’s workforce shortage problems in the food and beverage industry. The bill requires the licensed operator of the bar or restaurant be on the premises and supervising.

Remember there were people SCREAMING they are taking our jobs, they are stealing American jobs. No they weren’t, they were doing jobs nobody wanted and STILL don’t want, shocker! Now they are trying to get the very very young to do it because of a “worker shortage”.

Bury your head in the sand and talk to me in a few years. They said all the EXACT same stuff here. Literally the exact same things. Just wait.

Yes that is one story I provided because it actually hasn’t happened yet but will if it passes. That is when you will see something if it is enforced.

This was last season (this area is only fully opened in the warm months)

spectrumnews1.com...

Amid hiring challenges, Dells businesses welcome return of J-1 Visa students

For businesses, such as Wilderness Resort, the return of the program is a chance to breathe a sigh of relief. Having to hire a huge number of seasonal workers in an area where the pool of local job seekers is limited can be a challenge.

“We live in a town here of 4,000 residents, and yet we need a staff of 1,600, so we really need the J-1 program to help supplement our domestic staff,” said Wilderness Resort Chief Operating Officer Joe Eck. “They are a part of our family, a great cultural exchange.”

J1, a nice way to say temporary young immigrants
, either way, Not taking American jobs, because Americans don’t want it! Florida is a huge vacation destination, I really wonder how many immigrants work these jobs! What would it look like if they didn’t??

Oh give me a break, this has been going on during every single administration. Trump himself had illegals at Margo Largo.

That used to be the mantra to exploit acceptance for illegal immigration, in today's instance is totally away from that mantra.

Imported poverty does not look for jobs, the look for handouts and guess who pays for them, the taxpayer, socialism at its finest.

I can't agree with you here.

This is Florida. I have some White friends that have tans darker than some of my Black friends.

There is definitely still a ton of racist here in Florida, but it is not as much about the actual color of someone's skin, which I think is funny as hell if you think about it.

JAG where have you been hiding lately, under a rock? we are having an invasion of poverty like never before seen in the nation.

And this time is not about building a nation, is about destroying what we had as a nation.

All by design.

Not sure what the heck you are talking about but J1 workers, actually work. The only exploitation that is happening is the big business to the young people working and living in horrible conditions.

Part of this bill will allow racial profiling.

The problem is the legal immigration process is extremely cumbersome and constituents believe that immigrants are going to take their jobs so no one wants to fix the root cause of the problem.
