If this was the 80s people would be freaking out ..

Yep

its called conditional training...

and since lots of ATSers use WWII analogies in Ukraine I'll use one the Chinese balloon caper

conditional training in WWII

before the Enola Gay flew over Hiroshima the US regular flew a single bomber fly overs so the Japanese got used to seeing them and wouldn't be alarmed

just saying ....

EMP weapon maybe

Very unlikely.

Too low to have an effective radius.

Military installations and equipment should be hardened against EMP effects, anyway.

Population in that region is too small to have significant social impact ("Fear Factor").

Bit of a stretch? Surely?

Given the times we're in, I don't believe so.

Last week's PV video was released Thursday and the cams from 2 controversial issues were released to the public the next day.

At that height, where do you think it would end up? What with being lighter than air, and all?

seeing as how the pentagon has admitted they have known about this for months, it's looking like a distraction, or they are scared sh!tless of it's payload.

I sure don't know for sure, but with other presidents, this would be a severe escalation, and warrant a response, a strong one. But with Joe's soul being owned by both Satan and China, who can really say.

There are photos of this thing behind the International Space Station. The International Space Station is 356 feet long. A so called Chinese Surveillance Balloon is about 95 to 120 feet in diameter.

Nobody is going to tell me that the GIGANTIC OBJECT being photographed behind the ISS, is a Chinese Surveillance Balloon. It is clearly something else, much much larger, and for people to sit here and say it’s just a spy balloon, would be utterly dishonest. I did a lot of thinking about this and did a lot of searching for the latest and greatest spy balloons and none of them are as big as this thing. We don’t even know how far away from the ISS it really is. There are some questions that are not being asked, and there are plenty of honest answers not being offered.

Just because the Chinese take credit for something does not make it so. They have copied most of GM’s product line for decades and have had access to our patent office for at least 80 years. There is no way that the Chinese made this without someone knowing in advance it was going to be deployed and if our government can’t control a Chinese weather balloon, or spy balloon, then we have much larger problems right now. a reply to: SrWingCommander

Are the photos showing the Space Station, or are those just solar panels?

Behind the ISS?

Where are these photos?

Got any source?

The photos of the balloon show it has solar panels.

Do you think that's the ISS or something?!!!!!

Dude, that's not the ISS, those are solar panels likely powering the onboard instrumentation and spy equipment.

I'll just leave this here.

Lyrics
You and I in a little toy shop
Buy a bag of balloons with the money we've got
Set them free at the break of dawn
'Til one by one, they were gone
Back at base, sparks in the software
Flash the message "Something's out there"
Floating in the summer sky
99 red balloons go by
99 red balloons
Floating in the summer sky
Panic bells, it's red alert
There's something here from somewhere else
The war machine springs to life
Opens up one eager eye
Focusing it on the sky
The 99 red balloons go by
99 Decision Street
99 ministers meet
To worry, worry, super scurry
Call the troops out in a hurry
This is what we've waited for
This is it boys, this is war
The President is on the line
As 99 red balloons go by
99 knights of the air
Ride super high-tech jet fighters
Everyone's a superhero
Everyone's a Captain Kirk
With orders to identify
To clarify and classify
Scrambling the summer sky
99 red balloons go by
As 99 red balloons go by
99 dreams I have had
In every one, a red balloon
It's all over, and I'm standing pretty
In this dust that was a city
If I could find a souvenir
Just to prove the world was here
And here is a red balloon
I think of you, and let it go

If the Pentagon say its over the central US and they are monitoring it.

and below is the current military flights with transponders on

Isn't it obvious where it's at.

makes perfect sense for every aircraft around it to go dark, its only prudent
