No real problem seeing what would happen, just go back to the dying days of Stalin... there will be assassinations, backdoor alliances, lies, murder, backstabbing you name it... its the ruZZian way.
a reply to: BigfootNZ

Good thing is while they are backstabbing each other will leave Ukraine and rest of eastern Europe alone

Too busy whacking your rival oligarchs ........

But gay demons, i mean if the Russian troops actually choose to believe such nonsense what else are they

I’m sure it’s like it is in the west. Some bite on to the talking points and others parse through the BS.

But aside from their hyperbolic propaganda, I’m sure there are some who just truly believe they’re fighting for Russia. And that can be as true as they want it to be. Sometimes we’re no better sending troops to fight for oligarchs, albeit, I’m proud we don’t have the stomach for such large numbers of casualties. 10k in the Middle East for America and I don’t see us forgiving many who were responsible any time soon. 10k is a month for them right now, not a decade.

That's the scary part through.

Die-hard fanatics, or people that don't want or be convinced to play nice, simply believe and wish to follow and/or wallow in their own rhetoric.

I'm thinking its only going to get worse before it gets better CriticalStinker.

Let's just hope entropy catches Putin, the same way it got a hold of Stalin.

Kinder that way to reality by my guesstimation.

Unfortunately I think we all had a sense geopolitical tensions were reaching a flash point before this happened.

And that’s just life and humanity (or sometimes lack there of).

Part of me gets depressed when I dwell on it sure. But then I remember the last handful of decades were the most peaceful in earth maybe ever. More countries getting comfortable in their own skin and finding a semblance of middle class and stability.

I’m only here to bear witness, and I’m often going to dislike what I see or find it uncomfortable if not repulsive.

But this competition is what often helps us find the next step in who we are as a collective race. The arms race is what makes us at least partially equipped should visitors come. And one day it will fuel our reach beyond this system. All the jet drives, missile drives, this is what will bring us to the beyond.

We always learn a little about ourselves along the way too.

Well said CriticalStinker but somehow i imagine a nuclear war, which is the direction, and the road down which Putin is leading the world once again, is not a competition any of us wish to enter.

Far as i can establish humanity could learn a whole lot more along the way, should they manage to focus their attention on peace and progress, as opposed to war and strife.

Defense is important but not when it threatens our continued existence on the planet.

It's been a MAD world for as long as we have been on it, we need to do better than the assured destruction of the other side if we ever wish to all be on the same team, which we already are like it or lump it, we just refuse to accept the fact, and will continue to do so whilst we choose to fight and squabble over imaginary lines on maps.

You guys are funny putting all the blame on Putin when its the US that brought there own to have a government that sides with the west first and surounds them with missile defence systems all around there country. But I guess out of all rational you need to put someone as the bad guy and kiss the butt of the west without thinking for yourselves.
Myself I think we are just as much to blame for this stupid war as Russia is and Russia is pretty much fighting for its freedom.

What real, logical, reason did Putin invade its neighbor?

Russia is pretty much fighting for its freedom.

Nobody invading Russia.

And how many former Soviet Bloc nations choose to join NATO of their own volition?

That would be quite a few would it not?

See they are not scared of invasion from the west but they are terrified of Russian occupation.

What freedom?

Russia is one of the most repressive countries in the world and you only have to look as far as every opposition politician or journalist being murdered; ordinary citizens being jailed, tortured and raped for protesting against Putin or supporting other parties or all the false flag bombings on apartment buildings in Moscow Putin held to seize power last milenium.

How is surrounding them with "missile defence systems" in any way a threat to Russia's "freedom"?

"Defence systems".

As in to defend not attack.

I'm not always a big Joe Rogan fan but this fellow Peter Zeihan seems to have some interesting thoughts and opinions on the matter.

Brown noser at his best how can that be in any way a threat well you know if the US decide to invade when they have enough missile systems around them who do you think gonna have the advantage.......yes they are fighting for there freedom much more than we ever did since ww2.

I think the missile defense system you're alluding to was geared toward shooting down ballistic missiles, ICBMs, and, cruise missiles Russia may decide to send NATO's way under third-world war conditions, the operative word being "defense".

NATO forces could wipe the floor with the Russian Federation without even breaking a sweat they don't even require the use of nuclear weapons of the tactical sort or otherwise.

How can Russia be fighting for its freedom in another nation?

Russian forces are in the wrong place NavyNut not the other way about.

The Cuban Missile Crisis was about US and Russian offensive missiles in Turkey and Cuba. There's a huge difference between Aegis Ashore, and putting offensive missiles right outside a country.

You probably would not have found it so funny if you were around at the time.

And some what? Defensive missiles?

Because that is not exactly what Khrushchev had on the island, but a first strike capability, aka R-12s medium-range ballistic missiles, capable of carrying nukes.

Same thing some say that those ''defense'' missiles can actually be convert to nuclear and diminishing a country nuclear capabilities to defend itself is actually a very serious disadvantage. But you wouldn't understand that lol.

Do you mean converted? LoL

And also countries as opposed to "country"?

But you wouldn't understand that lol.

Whereas you seem to have a complete grasp of the situation and an unparalleld understanding.

I think it's your own ""understanding"" that's in question NavyNut.

But hey-ho it's my bedtime.

When someone is mad because the other guy is right they come to either grammar spell check or other types of tacticts to minimize the truthfullness of the other guys. I understand that.
