Russia claims Ukraine tried to assassinate Putin in drone attack on the Kremlin
The Kremlin did not provide evidence to support the claims, but said it "reserves the right to take retaliatory measures where and when it sees fit.” Kyiv denied any involvement.
Russia claimed Wednesday that Ukraine tried to assassinate President Vladimir Putin in an overnight drone attack on the Kremlin, news that drew denials from Kyiv and furious demands for retaliation from nationalists in Moscow.
The Kremlin’s accusation, made without providing evidence, was the latest in a string of reported incidents far from the war’s front lines. Kyiv said it had nothing to do with the alleged incident and suggested it could be used as a pretext for a new Russian attack inside Ukraine.

It's pretty hard to believe that Epstein died in The Toumbs after having such a high status.
“More than 70,000 tonnes of the world’s most dangerous poisons have been destroyed under the supervision of the OPCW,” said Fernando Arias, head of the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons.
A small remnant left in the United States “will be destroyed within the next few weeks,” Arias told journalists on a tour of the watchdog’s new technical centre and laboratory facility outside The Hague.
Since the Chemical Weapons Convention, the treaty that bans the use of toxic arms, was implemented in 1997, the OPCW had destroyed 72,118 tonnes of stockpiles declared by countries around the world, or 99 percent.
This equated to the equivalent of some 175 jumbo jets, a senior OPCW official said.
“Around 127 tonnes of declared weapons remained to be destroyed at two facilities, one in Denver, in Colorado, as well as at the Blue Grass chemical facility in Kentucky,” the official told AFP.
It immunized Epstein’s known and unknown co-conspirators who were credibly accused of trafficking and abusing minors, a rare and troubling agreement you will not find in any other federal non-prosecution agreement: ...including but not limited to Sarah Kellen, Adriana Ross, Lesley Groff, or Nadia Marcinkova.”
PacWest Bancorp plunged 45% to a new low before trading was halted Thursday, despite comments from its officials that tried to assuage customers and Wall Street. And another regional bank, First Horizon, was having its own troubles after it called off its merger.
The rout in regional banks picked up steam again on Thursday morning, with several stocks suffering sizeable losses.
PacWest sank 43% was halted for volatility multiple times. The slide began on Wednesday evening following news that the Los Angeles-based bank was exploring strategic options, including a potential sale.
Western Alliance Bancorp is the latest on the regional bank hit list. Shares fell as low as $11.46 but rebounded to $18.05 before the halt. They closed just shy of $30 yesterday and $75 before the regional banking turmoil.
Update, here's WAL's statement sent to CNBC:
"The Financial Times report that Western Alliance is considering as sale is categorically false in all respects. There is not a single element of the article is true. Western Alliance is not exploring a sale, nor has it hired an advisor to explore strategic options. It's shameful and irresponsible that the Financial Times has allowed itself to be used as an instrument of short sellers and as a conduit for spreading false narratives about a financially sound and profitable bank. We are considering all of our legal options in response to today's article"
Short sellers made $378.9 million in paper profits betting against regional banks First Horizon Corp, PacWest Bancorp and Western Alliance Bancorp in Thursday's session, analytics firm Ortex said.
Since the start of 2023, bearish investors have made $816 million from the three stocks alone, according to Ortex.
White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre on Thursday indicated the Biden administration is paying attention to the banking sector’s stocks KBE KRE , when she was asked if the administration was considering imposing a stop on short-selling of bank stocks like there was during the 2008 financial crisis. “The administration is going to closely monitor the market developments, including the short-selling pressure on healthy banks,” she said during a press briefing, adding that reporters should refer to the Securities and Exchange Commission for information on any possible actions. On Wednesday, a Reuters report said the SEC is not currently contemplating a short-selling ban, as worries over bank soundness hit share prices.
The White House has dismissed Russian "lies" alleging the US is responsible for a drone attack against the Kremlin.
John Kirby, the White House national security spokesperson, said there still was no conclusive evidence as to the authenticity of a video showing the alleged drone attack.
"The US has not confirmed the video itself or that there was a drone attack on the Kremlin," he said.
Moscow has claimed two drones tried to attack the Kremlin yesterday as part of an assassination attempt against Vladimir Putin.

The Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund, Kristalina Georgieva, believes it’s only a matter of time before central bank digital currencies (CBDC) are rolled out around the world and in the United States.
“The future has arrived,” Georgieva said. “Even in the U.S. where [CBDC] was for quite some time a topic of not great interest, now there is an engagement.”
Georgieva said regardless of the form they take, there is no doubt in her mind that CBDCs are the future, and the IMF has “rapidly increased” the number of staff that works on CBDCs and other forms of digital money as a result.
“We know that this is where we are headed,” she said. “It is not going to be reversed. Before the pandemic, we used to say the future is digital, and with the pandemic, the future has arrived.”
In the first part of the year, we saw no noticeable impact from ChatGPT on our new account growth and we were meeting expectations on new sign-ups," CEO Dan Rosensweig said during the earnings call Monday evening. "However, since March we saw a significant spike in student interest in ChatGPT. We now believe it's having an impact on our new customer growth rate."

JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon is scheduled to be deposed May 26 and 27 in two civil cases related to the bank's former client Jeffrey Epstein, the powerful financier accused of child sex trafficking before his death, according to a source familiar with the cases.
The government of the U.S. Virgin Islands has tried without success so far to serve a subpoena on Google co-founder Larry Page for documents for its civil lawsuit against JPMorgan Chase related to sex trafficking by the bank's longtime customer Jeffrey Epstein, a court filing revealed Thursday.
The USVI formally asked Manhattan federal court Judge Jed Rakoff to authorize the government to serve Page with that subpoena through so-called alternative means since its efforts to have a process server physically give it to him have failed to date.
Gulsanna (Sana) Mamediieva is the Director General of the European Integration Directorate in the Ukrainian Ministry of Digital Transformation. Luukas Ilves is the Undersecretary for Digital Transformation at the Estonian Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications. David Eaves is an Associate Professor in Digital Government at the UCL Institute for Innovation and Public Purpose. In June 2022, Gulsanna, Luukas and others met at the Bellagio Center for a convening, hosted by David, titled “Laying the Foundation for a Joint Statement on Digital Era Government.” During this meeting, Gulsanna and Luukas discussed Diia, the Ukrainian government’s app that provides Ukrainian citizens with access to more than 50 government services. This led to Estonia adopting this technology, with Ukraine’s help, to meet its long-standing goal of using digital technologies to govern more effectively.
“I believe that we should start to think of a collective digital future in terms of working together on a joint cyber agenda. Ukraine is quite a young country and this lets us develop and implement the newest creative solutions. The war that Ukraine is fighting requires making quick decisions, which is possible with breakthrough technology and the most innovative solutions. Artificial intelligence has helped us during this war, proving once more that a digital state is the most resilient one. Not least because it ensures the operation of public services and the economy. It’s the 21st century, so now’s the time for AI, UAVs, neural networks, Starlinks, and the swift exchange of valuable information. We are convinced that the future is digital, and it belongs to governments that operate like IT companies – quick, efficient, and agile. Digital governance simplifies the communication between a person and the state, makes services convenient and clear, and destroys any possibility of corruption. Digital democracy will let us include more citizens in the process. We have to build digitally resilient countries. Together we can do it even better.”
– Vice Prime Minister Mykhailo Fedorov
If we think that there’s a new change in the global order that’s about to happen, we’ll need to gather diplomats, economists, and some technologists to think about what we want that new order to look like in terms of what our institutions will become.
Ukraine wants to share what it’s building in the digital sphere with other states. We aim to integrate Ukraine into the newly developing European digital single market. We’re taking the lessons we’ve learned and sharing them with our European colleagues and NATO centers.

Three Parts of Cause and Effect.
Given what I just posted above, I'm not sure if this tweet is indicative of the fall, or revealing something else as it isn't a great anecdote actually - self destruction. In the past the "Hunt For Red October" had connections, but this,,, just don't see it.

Gallup poll article
Digging a little into the lgbtq graph you posted from a Gallup poll.
It looks like Gen Z is 19 to 26 year Olds. The younger kids aren't even reflected in this poll, they must be "off the charts" with their representation when it is accounted for. It starts with Gen Z, 19-26 year Olds. What about the ones under 19 years old or much younger? This is looking bad, they are creating a new gender class right before our eyes.
It is an epidemic!
The question is, where were these transgender people 20 or 30 years ago? A rhetorical question of course. This is proof that the transgender movement is nefarious and evil, poisoning the minds of our nations children, to what end?
We need to help these kids, but how? They have been taken hostage by..public schools? Get your kids out of public schools, that, for now, is the only way I see saving them from this gender bending trans nightmare.
We do need to get our kids out of the public schools too. I believe this is more like they are perpetuating a lie that is going to backfire. The reason? I think that is to continue with the plan to destroy the family unit once and for all time. Without the family in people lives to educate the children properly concerning human behavior, the morals are gone or will soon become very bad. This is because the direction is based on whimsical things that political/gov leadership believes is best for society despite their actual lack of understanding the consequences of any of their decisions at all past their own glory.
