Watch now for Zelensky in the following days to retaliate on civilian/some “PR” attack to distract attention.

In response to a recent powerful blow on UA forces training ground outside west of Avdiivka.

Powerful blow reported yesterday on the military training ground of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in Selidovo.

Reported possibly up to 1,500+ Ukrainian military personnel at the training ground who arrived for training and further transfer to Avdiivka.

Syrsky (who replaced the previous General Zaluzhny) has now a major set back whose newly appointed position was to unblock Avdiivka.

Numbers aren’t yet official, but there’s definitely a big situation there that unfolded.

Apparently all entrances and exits to the city are blocked. The SBU is conducting on going investigations and raids.

I don't suppose you might have any links or sources?

Want to discuss the situation with the Black Sea fleet?

What Black Sea Fleet ? Sounds like most of it is down in Davy Jone's locker.

Attacks on civilians? Like these ones, by Russia?

"Overnight, a Russian missile attack claimed three lives including a child in the mining town of Selydove, 40km (25 miles) west of Avdiivka. Officials said four missiles had hit the local hospital and maternity ward, as well as nine blocks of flats. "

From the BBC article I linked to.

Any source for your claims?

Russia is apparently using S300 SAMs to attack civilian targets.

Seems to be an indiscriminate tactic.

Apparently confirmed on the hit from multiple sources.

Saw one of the videos.

Regarding the massive strike in Selidovo. It’s mentioned in “ISW” as well.

Some are saying the numbers on UA military casualties on the training ground are inflated. But appears to be a couple hundred+ UA military personnel casualties/ something big got hit on the training/staging ground that was prepping to reinforce Avdiivka.

LOL, Ukraine, without any navy, has done quite well to damage or destory about 1/3 of Russia's black sea fleet, but that still leaves the other 2/3 as valid targets. Here's a summary from December 2023, which needs some updating for the recent activity in 2024:

Smaller patrol boats are not shown.
What Russian Black Sea Fleet ships were destroyed by Ukraine

A game of Battleship is unfolding in the Black Sea, where navy-less Ukraine, left to its own resorts against Russia’s menacing fleet, takes out ships one by one with a combination of missiles, drones, and ingenuity

However, the effect is more devastating to Russia than just the 1/3 they lost. The other 2/3 seem rather impotent now, because they are afraid to venture into the black sea for fear they will meet the same fate. So, Ukraine has gained a lot of access to the Black Sea now, that they didn't have when Russia's fleet was controlling it.

Can anyone more knowledgeable about such matters explain how effective these sea drones might be against, say the USN or the RN?

Sinking or damaging a third of the Black Sea fleet by a nation effectively without a navy seems to be a remarkable achievement.

"Try bringing something to actually discuss. At least like Arbitrageur does, or cav posting a link daily on updates from Victoria Nuland etc.

Some discuss news from Ukraine side etc.
And some discuss from the Russian side etc.
Both can compare and look at a situation and discuss it intelligently.

Perhaps, if we can do that, then a mature conversation can go forward."

OK? So you now have some discussion points with sources about your Black Sea fleet, or what's left of it.

Let the mature conversation go forward.

If you would be kind enough to provide some links and sources for your latest claims, we could have one about those, too.

Or, not?

Thanks ! Yeeh this should be investigated indeed .

And why exactly Elon decided to limit the starlink download speed to minimum the the Ukrainian front line ?
Based on what Elon Musk posted on "X", formerly known as twitter, it appears that Musk's slant is toward pro-Russian/Anti-Ukrainian, at least according to Ukrainian youtuber Denys Davydov who sat through Musk's podcast and that was his summary:

Elon Musk Calls to Cancel the support of Ukraine using X | Trump will ruin NATO, democracy and USA

I thought Musk supported Ukraine at first, even giving them access to starlink at his expense, before he got the US defense department to pay for Ukraine's starlink access. But then I remember Musk meddled in the negotiations and laid out his plan for Ukraine's surrender or something where they would surrender Crimea to Russia as part of some peace deal. Then Ukraine got mad at Musk for meddling in their affairs and trying to bargain away something that wasn't his to bargain with, and Musk's response was, to threaten to cut off Ukraine's starlink access. Then he got the defense department to pick up the bill.

So I knew most of that history, but I didn't think he'd gone from pro-Ukraine to pro-Russia. Apparently his reasoning is something like Ukraine can't win against Russia, but as Denys points out, even the entire Soviet Union couldn't defeat Afghanistan, and the Soviet Union was a more powerful entity than just Russia alone. You can read some interesting details about that history in this link, including some formerly secret communications between Musk and Federov about how Musk didn't want to be a art of starting WWIII which he felt could happen if he enabled starlink access for Ukraine in the Crimea region.

Denys didn't get into the slow bandwidth issue, so we still lack confirmation if Musk is behind that, but he may be complicit in not cutting off the Russian terminals using starlink. When Ukraine finds the Russian starlink antennas, they disable them by dropping something like grenades on them using drones, so some of them are getting disabled even without help from Musk, LOL.

‘How am I in this war?’: The untold story of Elon Musk’s support for Ukraine

Denys has tried to stay out of US politics, but when it affects his homeland of Ukraine, that's almost impossible, so he also discusses what is going on with Trump and his minions blocking aid to Ukraine. Putin must be happy about that.

And or have you keep posting “well here is another damn Pyrrhic victory from Russia again!”
a reply to: Imhere

What else can it be called?

Do you know how many people it takes to make 413 tanks, how many man hours in total it takes?

30,000 people dead is hardly insignificant either, 18 years of development for each plus there's all the infrastructure and the fact each would've had parents too.

The kicker is this is just a small % of the overall losses. Genuine irreplaceable losses.

Yet the propaganda from the east paints a picture of some sort of super morality by the bestest most advanced nation on earth that's not even trying and still kicking ass. All whilst they piss away resources and life.

It's detestable really, and many who support Russia have the gall to turn around and say this is totally happening because of western morality and our scruffy liberal ways. Detestable, like a bad husband who beats his wife then claims "she made me do it". Then we (the west) used their hands to slaughter half the children and put the rest into poverty. Psychic liberal vampires from the West are literally the worst aren't they?

Anyways... Literal demonstration of a pyrrhic victory. To say otherwise would be indicating that Russian soldiers are no better than cannon fodder, that or they're really not good at fighting. Like how could I claim a victory if me and 5 others showed up to for a fight then 9 of us get knocked out lol.

How many more “pyrrhic victories” are you going to count?

Perhaps it’s time to take a chair to sit down. And reevaluate your expectations in the situation going forward.

I have similar view about Musk that he is actually on Russian side .

My view is that there is big chunk of traitorous elements in US politics , in GOP more specifically . So Vlad is clapping hands knowing he have influence in US via people who side with him .

Has your insecurity gone that bad, where you’re finding yourself cheering for a depleting Stepan Bandera circle jerk corrupted regime?

Question, who was encroaching more past 40 yrs? NATO? Or Russia?

Whose bases were planted more in the Balkans past 30 years?

Which the Clintons and Tony Blair stripped Kosovo from Serbia… and gave the recent influx of Muslim extremists their own country? from sovereign Serbia?

Milosevic or not, you don’t rip a heart out of a country like that. And give it to recent influx of undocumented and many Muslim extermists.

Which Serbia pleaded about, yet NATO bombed Serbia for 72days in 99’.

Then 9/11 happens.

Surely France, Italy and Germany would fight right now if we’d take Frankfurt out, or Hamburg for example. Like taking Kosovo out of Serbia.and gave independence to some influx of Muslim migrants from past 40+ yrs

Muslim extremists tore down centuries old Serbian Christian Orthodox monasteries in Kosovo. Tony Blair grins?

Drunken Yeltsin was then.

And guess who was right behind him.

14 February Update

Ukrainian forces successfully sank another Russian Black Sea Fleet (BSF) landing ship in the Black Sea off the southern coast of occupied Crimea on the night of February 13 to 14. The Ukrainian Main Military Intelligence Directorate (GUR) published footage on February 14 showing Ukrainian maritime drones striking the Caesar Kunikov Ropucha-class landing ship off the coast of occupied Alupka, Crimea.

Russian forces recently made confirmed advances near Bakhmut, Marinka, and Krynky amid continued positional fighting along the entire line of contact on February 14.
