Are you a mind reader? No. Stop acting as if you know everything.

I lived in Florida for years, that’s all I need to know.
Do you remember a little guy name Trayvon Martin?

You lived in Florida, so that makes you an expert on gun owners? Riiight.

Gun owners in Florida are no different than they are anywhere else. There's a process to using a gun. You don't just pop off rounds.

People in Florida ARE very different. There is a whole meme section and comedy section about it.

The latest:

www.nytimes.com...

“Many people across Florida remain without clean drinking water, or their taps have run dry, after water systems across the state were polluted or failed in the storm’s wake. Officials warned that rain-drenched rivers could flood inland locations in the coming days.

About 1 million customers in Florida, 64,000 in North Carolina and 18,000 in Virginia remained without power.”

It won’t take long before more people are “looting” or “taking” or whatever your political affiliation wants to call it.

They called people trying to survive looters!

You are reading too much into it. The Governor is putting out a strong message to deter the looters. He wants them to think about not coming at all. Your scenario is people are shooting at anything that moves in some over the top emotional response.

Lived in both states, I will never go back to louisiana its the taint of america after dodgy gas station sushi.

The food is great and away from the cities the people are awesome but the cities just make it unbearable.

My dad has lived there since the mid 60s I lived there 24 years, except for the yankees constantly trying to change things overall the state hasnt changed much other than traffic jams.

I think there are better ways to put out that message. I think there are enough crazies there to take it the wrong way.
People there are trigger happy to begin with, at least in the areas I lived in, they don't need an "excuse".

I am not over the top emotional. I'm being real. During natural disasters you'll see the absolute best of humanity, and on the flip side see the absolute worst.

Stealing a TV from Target, diapers from Walmart or whatever from closed and boarded shops doesn't justify murder. Not in Texas and not in Florida. Looting and burglary are two different things.

It is funny you brought up TVs. In Texas, a man shot two people stealing his neighbor's TV as they were walking out the door of his neighbor's house. It is all on tape as he was talking to the police dispatcher when he did it. He didn't get charged...

Don't get the hysterical all wound up now. They might blow a gasket over something you say.

Remember, Floridians are "different". They don't think before they act. They shoot at everything. 🙄

He deserved to be shot, yes.

Florida has always been tough on hurricane looters.

Back when Hurricane Andrew hit Florida. We had a stall in an indoor flea market in Homestead. The week before the storm the Flea Market gave everyone ID cards to identify themselves just in case something did happen. And something did. The hurricane completely demolished the front part of the building. After the storm I went to get out what merchandise I could. I had to climb in the front of the building. Unfortunately our stall was was under some debris. I was able to shift things and get into the safe and remove what we had in there. When I exited the building I was met by the fully armed Florida National Guard who were rounding up looters for the cops to arrest. Fortunately I had business cards and the flea market ID to prove that I was a store owner. Unfortunately for the looters that did not they were put on their knees at gun point until the cops showed up.

Florida does not mess around with looters. Always has, always will.

That doesn't surprise me. However technically, a TV can easily be replaced, so that doesn't work with the law you posted, really. But neither did Trayvon Martin's case. George Zimmerman got off on self-defense.

Kyle Rittenhouse won his case through self-defense. It would have been illegal for him to have killed those people in defense of property.

It is funny you brought up TVs.

There was a video of looters stealing TV in a reply post above yours.

They create these over the top scenarios of "what if it is your grandmother walking down the street and picks up a bottle of water because she is thirsty and gets blown away as the Governor suggests people should do"

If someone shoots at a person like that then please take their guns away and put them in jail...lol

It is about roaming gangs looking for a quick buck and if two guys drive around in a pickup truck and see armed people in the streets they will not stop, and if they get the Governor's message then they will most likely not even get in their pickup truck in the first place to even try. That is what it is all about.

I don't see the posts from the left denouncing Biden's Emperor Palpatine impersonation calling Republicans dangerous and a week later a guy runs over some teenager with his truck claiming it was one of those evil Republicans...

Wow. It's Katrina all over again.

When did it become okay to murder people over property, especially when that property might be canned soda and diapers?

Please show me a documented incident when someone has been killed for stealing diapers. I'll wait.

Do feet diapers count? Or TVs that can display diaper commercials?

" You loot, we shoot ".

It's just as well that everybody learns : that there are plenty of idiots out there,
who think that bricks, glass, and stuff, are worth more than a human life.

Always best to not to mess with other peoples #.
Better to learn that young too.

Contextually this is a different circumstance than just run of the mill stealing.

Imagine trying to get your life together after a huge natural disaster while law enforcement is stretched thin and some people are acting as if it’s a free for all.

If someone has the capacity to prey on people trying to get their lives back in order, best not to make assumptions on what else they’re capable of.

Exactly. 👍🏻

Not a peep out of them about that boy who was run over because, as you know, the left can do no wrong.
