Who ever said the US would need nukes to both neuter and destroy russia?

We don't.

Guess you could try sanctions? Hahaha.

Except they didn't work! Because Europe was paying such high prices and literally helped make sanctions feel like a mosquito bite, not to mention no one doing anything on the billions in oil sales to other large nations of influence.

The ego and idiocy of America is that we think the world revolves around us, and Europe is just a long for the ride like a little annoying brother.

It's going to be a rude awakening soon not just for us Americans, but for the whole of Europe and the rest of the world!

Yeah, we're bad.

Leave Ukraine and we can discuss it.

Can't man sorry, see unlike us Americans what Russians do is they finish what they start and then they actually help rebuild afterwards. Hell they even cleaned our mess up with ISIS!

So you see unlike us Russians don't go back on their word and actually do better!

Why does putin keep complaining about the sanctions crippling russia's economy?

We can always add more if you want.

With the stroke of a pen.

Yeah, 'keeping' your word'.

Like we aren't going to invade Ukraine?

Or no conscripts?

Or no annexation?

Who said that?

Putin said we will launch a special operation if the build up of Ukraine and shelling of Eastern region continues.

The annexation was always on the table, literally always.

And mobilisation was mentioned that it will eventually occur.

Have Western channels not been mentioning these things? Are cover ups still prominent?

Sounds like no one mentioned any of these things other than some European, Asian and Russian media.

According to Canadian prepper, loads of missiles are heading into the new territories. An ex-general member of the Dumas says that it looks like they will have to invade the rest of Ukraine, and could do it if NATO does not step in. Ex-CIA chief says that if Putin uses a tactical Nuke they will target every Russian army installation in Ukraine and Crimea and take out the Black sea fleet. This is still escalating so I hope someone
waves an olive branch soon.

I think that was the entire russian fleet, not just the Black Sea fleet.

East Germany for 45 years.

Yeah, the build-back in E Germany was something else. Went there right after the Wall fell. The villages still had the loudspeakers on high poles so the local commissars could berate the proletariat. All the buildings were dismal, they had stucco covered with 40+ years of grime. But boy oh boy, E Germany had a huge police force and an outsized army for a small country. Oh, and there was that minor difference of opinion that saw people machine-gunned for attempting to flee the country.

Cheers

I've been all over Eastern Europe starting from more or less just after The Wall came down and the fall of The Soviet Union.

The neglect and decay when I first started going was staggering, it really was like taking a step back in time to the 1930's and 40's.
War damaged buildings everywhere and just a general sense of stagnation.

The transformation has been staggering.
And much as I'm loathe to admit it mostly due to funding from the EU and investment from western European banks.

Over the years I've spoken to lots of Eastern Europeans and got to know some quite well.
They have a general sense of gratitude and appreciation for the investment and an all consuming dislike and distrust of Russia.

Russia treated these countries like vassal states and suppressed the people in a way that I think many who have never been there or spoken to these people simply fail to understand.

The notion of Russia 'rebuilding' is laughable.

It has done better since Perestroika as the USSR communists became more Russian capitalists. It took a good 10 - 20 years for things to start flowing better after that economic shake up.

As for how things really are there now, don't know.

So, the USA haven't had an issue nuking the hell out of Japan in 1945 and now, all of the sudden, they have grown a conscience and realised that if another country would do the same thing they did, that is a bad, bad thing and this would be a catastrophe so they are going to listen to Putin's demands and walk on eggshells?

Come on...

I think the USA admin, for some reason, are too proud to give in to Putin's blackmail and demands and I also think Biden doesn't care if Putin would nuke Europe...

until the last decade when talking through this kind of situation the fear wasn't a nuke used in that way it was them being used as emps to fry western tech..

thinking about it the west losing access to poisonous social media might not be so bad..

Really poor comparison on your part.

The modern outlook regarding nuclear weapons is a consequence of people considering the destructive power of atomic, and later, nuclear, weapons over DECADES.

In 1945, there was zero consensus on employment of such weapons, other than that the USA rightfully believed that a conventional invasion of Japan would entail FAR MORE casualties for both sides than use of the A-bombs.

One cannot take the conventional wisdom of today and impose it upon decisions made 77 years ago.

Putin, on the other hand, has the full benefit of those decades of thought and discussion about the negative effects of employing nuclear weapons. Regardless, he and his regime talk glibly about their employment, hoping to terrorize the West into not supporting Ukraine.
