No that was the US, land grabbing by proxy. See coup in Ukraine 2014 and the installation of a puppet regime.

Pointless to tell them this as well, they don't believe that it was the U.S that installed the Nazi government and then further hid evidence of the genocide the government they installed committed.
'nazi' government'?
Maybe this is why you folks have trouble getting anyone to take you seriously?

So this is all about ww2 'heros'?
Wanna talk about stalin?
The only ones that kept calling for peace talks was Russia, their terms were simple disarmament, no NATO or E.U membership, and holding the Ukrainian government responsible for the 8 years of genocide. However each time they said no to the terms and ignored peace talks completely.

Disarmament? Ukraine gave up all its nuclear weapons at Russia's insistence upon gaining independence.
If Ukraine's regular and conventional forces and weaponry was such a threat then why have they been so reliant on armaments sent to them from elsewhere since the invasion? Something you've been going on about repeatedly.
And what about the vastly superior forces Putin has in reserve, you know the one's you keep on saying are going to smash the combined forces of NATO and its allies.
The reality is Ukraine posed no realistic military threat to Russia at all.
Ukraine had been denied membership of both NATO and EU, so that's a non-issue.
They had absolutely no realistic chance of gaining either.
Genocide?
Honestly, are you likening events in Ukraine to those during The Holocaust, Rwanda, Cambodia or even more pertinently The Holodomor?
Even if we accept your version of events, sorry, Putin's version - which I don't - calling it a 'genocide' is a stretch by anyone's definition.
Doesn't really ring true does it?

Missing the point again?
Did russia invade Ukraine over ww2 'heros'?
Or was it an obvious land grab?

didn't think so.
We can ruble moscow and st petersburg without nukes, or troops on the ground.
Hopefully, that would be the response to tactical nuke use, not more nuke use.
