. I'm not trying to get off topic with someone who censored out some of my post in your reply! Haha

Yes you were.

You were intentionally trolling.

Censorship is definitely bi-partisan. The right wing is on a war path banning and censoring things everyday.

That wasn't censorship. It was a direct quote.

Man, if it goes through, how many Karen's and Kevin's will close their accounts?

I may actually open one, if it does.

I wouldn't be surprised if a bunch of staff resign as well, but I think it will be a good thing to have them gone upfront.

I have a twitter account I seldom use, but I keep it for those occasions it is useful.

I have a mental image of Twitter employees clutching a gasoline can in one hand and a lighter in the other, waiting anxiously for word that the deal has closed.

Anyone who is angry needs to direct that anger to the Twitter board of directors. They voted to sell to Musk.

Liberals always vent their anger and frustrations on the wrong people.

Elon Musk is now going to have access to so much user info, I guess no one cares about that. The guy who pushes simulation theory, says we must fear AI, and says there's no UFOs or Aliens owns Twitter now.

But let's focus on how exciting it will be to push the boundaries of discrimination, racism, prejudice, sexism, xenophobia, idiotic pseudoscience, crisis actors, and whatever other hot garbage gets people with boring lives excited for endless days of internet trolling in the name of free speech LMAO.... haha

Censorship is definitely bi-partisan. The right wing is on a war path banning and censoring things everyday. The whole government word of "CLASSIFIED" or "CONFIDENTIAL" is synonymous with what word again that also starts with C?

^^^ Right on cue.

Head exploding.

Oh cool ATS Republican gas lighting. Fun. If you think Musk's agenda is his free speech snake oil then eat it right up. The guy thinks we live in a video game, he thinks AI could be the death of mankind but wants to make it anyway, says there's no UFO's or Aliens, pushing new forms of global currency, and he will have so much personal data on users that Edward Snowden warned us about.

I see his purchase as an effort to censor UFO sightings such as the mass sighting that recently happened in Italy that's being censored. He's already tweeted he will be changing algorithms but the whole left vs right free speech kook show is taking center stage instead.

UFO sightings, declassified documents, whistle blowers, and sightings are increasing. Musk is super against this, because his beliefs in Simulation Theory and AI. This is why I think he bought Twitter. He's a UFO/Alien disinfo agent.

Twitter is the biggest communication network in the world and Musk is a futurist and he's laid out his personal beliefs about the Universe, Life, and society so many times. Go ahead and just have tunnel vision with the free speech narrow-mindedness gossip.

I wonder why Elon M didn't invest in trumps social media site?

truthsocial.com...

I don't think Elon's twitter investment is going to work out like the right wingers hope. Time will tell...

I have a strong sense you're right, though it may take a few years for people to come to that realization. Zuckerberg had no problem bowing to the controllers when called before a congressional committee, as we've seen with so many others when their internet presence reaches a certain point of influence.

I'll answer in the negative. Musk can have the place, lol.

Twitter is a horrible place, albeit "reporters" at times do
break some interesting news there. I can't call them journalists
any longer, as they don't really qualify.

It is baffling to read a news piece here or there and the title
will implicate a social trend such as "so and so condemned for
blah blah", only to find that the "reporter" has linked to spammers
on twitter. There are literally millions of spam accounts on the
Twit platform. If Musk can clean that up, more power to him.

I think many people will be turned off when they will have
to provide a government ID to twitter for a blue check mark.

How damn old are you? Try growing up, and turning ALL ypur toys off for a month. After that, you won't mind the buyout so much, because you'll realize only a 'tard puts THAT much stock in a modern digital party line format.

I kicked SM a decade ago, and there was no suffering or FOMO to be had. Dude, it's not that important, and you dont NEED it, you just want it like a quick dopamine fix.

The world still turns, big boy.

Oooh a new ego maniac to freely give your personal information to, Zucker 2.0, if you want to use our crap product just agree to our overly invasive T+Cs

"I also want to make Twitter better than ever by enhancing the product with new features, making the algorithms open source to increase trust, defeating the spam bots, and authenticating all humans," he added.

Never had an account and never will

imo the rightwing loves Elon because they thought trump back on twitter would pave the way back into the WH for trump. trump hasn't even participated in his own social media site.

Ain't gonna happen....

IMO the "right" doesn't love Musk, this is a made up
red herring "headline". I think it would be far more
accurate to say the the left hates Musk. LOL.

We all know why!

I think what some of you aren't getting is that Twitter, more than any other social media site, is where ideas are born and take hold. It's the only social media site that's still largely text based and therefore is more about ideas than memes and cat videos. Twitter is where many of the crazy leftist ideas took hold in the last 5-10 years and built a following, and has now entirely taken over. Twitter, more than any other social media site, is the center of leftist power - and now that power has just been destroyed in the name of free speech. That's incredibly important.

I actually don't think Elon Musk is a very political guy, rather he's a freedom-maximalist. He's looking for a place where interesting voices and unique perspectives can be heard, new ideas debated, and a world-wide dialectic can be held. That's what Twitter used to be, and hopefully can become again.
