CNN for example did VERY well covering the campaign and president of a man they openly despise. Now that hes gone, they are close to done.

Hope they go bankrupt too.

Twitter can be wildly monetized. Also, among all his other interests, it alignes perfectly with his brain chip and marketing.

I wonder how Zuck is taking all this in. Facebook is dying. Tik Tok and Twitter are growing.

Probably happy to be out of the spotlight!!

With the rebranding and Metaverse failing, FBs days may be numbered.

What shares? Once this deal goes through Musk becomes the sole owner and Twitter becomes a privately owned company.

Just like the DNC and Democratic Party.

Private companies get to do whatever the eff they want remember?

If I had any disposable income I'd be investing in anything Elon Musk is involved in especially $TSLA and "X"holding, Musk will now control an advertising platform that rivals FB.

If all his employees don't quit and move to 'Canada'.

If the true believers don't sabotage him.

Remember the head Ahole was already leaving Twitter.

The # that started it all. Dorsey.

Wouldn't be surprised if there was some collusion between him and Musk.

Musk owning twitter is not necessarily a bad thing for Trump.

Technically it is. DWAC, the SPAC tied to Trump's social media platform, has already seen its stock fall 13% today.

Fair enough, but Trump's platform was already suffering, so this will probably just expedite the inevitable.

An anecdote.

Used to work with a guy that worked in a managerial capacity for Tesla. His observation was that Musk only got involved when necessary, missed deadlines, waste, products of subquality etc. Then he would make a personal apperance and gut the problem area. Leaving the management to start over in hiring etc.

Elon Musk is now going to have access to so much user info, I guess no one cares about that. The guy who pushes simulation theory, says we must fear AI, and says there's no UFOs or Aliens owns Twitter now.

But let's focus on how exciting it will be to push the boundaries of discrimination, racism, prejudice, sexism, xenophobia, idiotic pseudoscience, crisis actors, and whatever other hot garbage gets people with boring lives excited for endless days of internet trolling in the name of free speech LMAO.... haha

Censorship is definitely bi-partisan. The right wing is on a war path banning and censoring things everyday. The whole government word of "CLASSIFIED" or "CONFIDENTIAL" is synonymous with what word again that also starts with C?

They are already trying UBI, they are just doing it by the spoonful right now.

Oh, I know... in small test cases, it'll appear to work just fine.

It won't self-destruct until it goes fully universal...

Ok that's fair...except he will have investors and they will own a share of twitter. At least last I heard he wasn't buying it with his own funds but 15 billion of it was his contribution to the purchase. Either way I think twitter will go the route of myspace. If it isn't useful to them as a narrative control device and even more becomes a hindrance to their control it will be subverted somehow.

Looks like it happened.

Elon Musk reaches deal to buy Twitter for $44 billion

Elon Musk is buying Twitter and taking it private. Twitter's board of directors unanimously agreed to Musk's offer to purchase the social media platform at a price of $44 billion, the company announced Monday.

That is a delicious bit of irony.

The reports I read were very upbeat and positive on Musk's participation in the pitch meetings needed to bring in investment banks for helping fund the purchase. The process of raising the capital to fund this happened rather quickly, in fact unusually quickly. Whatever detractors Musk had among shareholders and the investment community on this deal, he has pacified or won them over.

Musk is definitely a wildcard, but I don't see radical changes for Twitter, at least anything that'd tank the company's worth. On the other hand, if you're rabid leftist "content moderator" on Twitter, I would probably start looking to make a career move to Facepalm or YouBoob or one of the other platforms. Musk is signalling that taking down tweets or accounts because they hurt "muh feelz" or aren't aligned with leftist dogma is perhaps on borrowed time. Who knows, he may just be saying that with no plans to act on it.

Musk does have a streak of irreverence and mischief. I doubt he'd do it, but allowing Trump back on would be gold, just watching the heads that'd explode in the process, and I say that as someone who's read maybe 1-2 tweets from Trump ever, and has no plans of reading any new tweets he'd make.

There's also whatever he's going to do with crypto currency, Doge coin, and NFT's. The free speech fragility is hilarious.

I heard he is going to accept Dodgecoin as payment on Twitter.

Ha it's definitely not, both parties censor things all the time in the legislative, executive and judicial branch forever. I'm not trying to get off topic with someone who censored out some of my post in your reply! Haha
