There are S-400 at Sevastopol which covers Odessa air space. If Ukraine tries to use anti sub helicopters they get shot down. Unless America gives Ukraine Tomahawk cruise missiles to take out S-400 in Sevastopol.

Neptune missiles just successfully targeted s300 (with s400 radar upgrades) on the moskva, what makes you think they can't do the same with the s400s in sevestapol?

They can, which is why russia hasn't turned on the s400s in Crimea yet.

There isn't an internet conspiracy you won't use huh? Please show me in the bill where it says they can lie or even target US citizens. What it did was allow Voice of America to give content to local media upon request. This means say a local paper wants to do a story on something written on VOA they can request the sources and use the material without having to pay them since it was provided with taxpayer money. Or put simply the VOA cannot charge someone for using their story.

If you are looking for a bill that specifically states that the US government can target US populace with propaganda you must think they are fools.

Before 2012 the Smith–Mundt Act prevented the U.S. government from delivering programming to American audiences it kept them from targeting US citizens. There are no longer any laws preventing the targeting and dissemination of government propaganda to US citizens. Nor does it restrain them from using any form of media.

Now you can be trusting that the US wouldn't take advantage of such an opening because of their great track record (sarc) like how they did so well about not spying on US citizens.

But sure, chalk it up to a conspiracy theory if you want.

However, for it to be a conspiracy there would need to be no evidence of it happening.

Two USA Today journalists were ensnared in a propaganda campaign after reporting about millions of dollars in back taxes owed by the Pentagon’s top propaganda contractor in Afghanistan. Eventually, one of the co-owners of the firm confessed to creating phony websites and Twitter accounts to smear the journalists anonymously.

Smith-Mundt Modernization Act of 2012 - Amends the United States Information and Educational Exchange Act of 1948 to authorize the Secretary of State and the Broadcasting Board of Governors to provide for the preparation and dissemination of information intended for foreign audiences abroad about the United States, including about its people, its history, and the federal government's policies, through press, publications, radio, motion pictures, the Internet, and other information media, including social media, and through information centers and instructors. (Under current law such authority is restricted to information disseminated abroad, with a limited domestic exception.)

A third major fire in Russia at a sensitive facility, this time in Moscow; defense and space related.

I am happy to read these reports.
There will be more “inside jobs “ as the days go by.
Not sure who is involved, but good job.
I suspect the news will never be blacked out completely in the pariah’s country.
I hope they go for state sponsored TV next.

If you believe what Western News is saying about how Russian forces are doing that may make sense.

But, if you remember that The Smith-Mundt Modernization Act passed in 2012 legalized our government to not only target foreign nations with propaganda but US citizens as well. They can do so through any media source. They can pay media companies with our tax dollars to push a narrative and keep it confidential under the cloak of national security.

If you remember that, then you may want to consider that the info you are being told is not the entire truth or possibly outright lies.

Wasn't really going by what the news said so much as what was actually coming out of Ukraine, and Russians that have been talking. Heck IIRC, Medvedev made some ff remark about tactical nukes a few weeks ago before walking ti back. So it's on their minds, if not foremost on them.

I wouldn't worry about nukes being used unless the UN does something really stupid like join into the war beyond supplying ordinance.

I watched a video on Telegram where RF showed one of the ASPs they captured. UAF had more than enough ordinance so I don't think more will help much. RF isn't pushing in anymore but UAF is trying to take back territory so they are attacking fortified positions. Plus the Chechens have finished in Mariupol and are heading to the main battle. DPR is sitting on the rest of Azov holed up underground.

JUST MAYBE the billions of dollars we send to our military/intelligence agencies every year is yielding results!

A video of Vladimir Putin was published this weekend. He looks POISONED, doesn't he?

See it here: nypost.com...

If true, this could be GREAT, or it could be HORRIBLE...depending on how Putin reacts.

If the numbers are only half of what is claimed there, it is still a shocking failure on the part of Russia's military.

What I'd like to see is authoritative loss figures for both sides.

Wondering again about the fires.

You made the point that these were valuable facilities to be targets of false flag actions.

Yet, it is difficult to imagine a resistance movement in Russia that has sprung up so quickly AND been able to penetrate the security of these facilities, assuming the fires were not accidental (3 in a week make that seem unlikely, at least for all 3).

So what does that indicate? Covert action by Russian intel personnel who had authorization to enter the facilities or knew how to bypass their security? And if so, on behalf of whom?

Disturbing and curious.

Cheers

For the most part, I've enjoyed reading this thread, however, the tit for tat on a particular weapon's systems (i.e. harpoon missiles) is not going to dictate the outcome of the war between Ukraine and Russia! The discussion that ensues just corroborates the desire for that side to win. This does not make it an update thread, nor a conspiracy thread, nor a deny ignorance thread! This is not what ATS is about!

What those statements do indicate is a desire for the country you are pulling for is to win the war. This results in dis/mis information and trying to project a narrative. Opposite from what ATS was founded upon.

When I see posts from generalbattle and grimpachi are not facts but conjecture and ultimately derails the thread. It's obvious that generalbattle never served in the military and is solely interested in weapons systems capabilities. The Russians executing these systems have not displayed proficiency in end results on the so-called dominance of those weapons systems. As a retired Colonel in the United States Air Force, and Air Battle Manager, I can tell you your statements have little merit and do not provide context to the current situation.

Why cant we focus on facts?

Focus on the results of the operators executing these weapons systems. Russian forces in Ukraine are severely limited in the proficiency of operating there weapons! Deaths of senior officers display this! There are too many arm chair quarterbacks on here predicting what will happen without military knowledge. ISW reports have a helluva lot more credibility than posters spewing speculation without facts.

War is a battle of battles! Taking one fact or partial of facts of one instance does not constitute a victory. This will be a long war predicated on battles of battles. Don't micromanage a piece of a battle to make it an outcome. That's not how wars are won. I know from personal experience! Russia invaded a country with 40 million people and expect 200,000 troops to secure a victory. That will not happen! It didn't happen in Vietnam, Afghanistan or Iraq. This is not Mongolia!

Cheers!

The Russian government sounds desperate to have an excuse to use WMDs in Ukraine.

What happened to all the feverish accusations of US bioweapons manufacture in Ukraine?

23 April update

Key Takeaways

* Russian forces continued their pressure on the Azovstal facility in Mariupol.

* Russian troops drawn from the retreat from Kyiv are re-entering combat in eastern Ukraine.

* Russian forces from around Mariupol are redeploying to the vicinity of Donetsk City and are likely to enter combat again soon and without rest or refit.

* Russia continued conducting small-scale ground offensives at multiple points along the front from Izyum to Zaporizhia Oblast.
