We can go down the false flag route but part of me thinks it might be internal dissent in the Russian military. Especially since they started the drafting of 140k russian conscripts, the numbers of KIA/WIA/MIA and the possibility of Russian soldiers being forced to kill extended family members in Ukraine. To add salt to the wound Russia is redeploying troops in order to change the narrative. The introduction of the execution squads in Ukraine.

Given what the oil facilities in Belgordo are responsible for, supplying the russian forces with fuel etc...

I think Russia would rather blame Ukraine instead of acknowledging they are having internal dissent within the military.

Could this also be true of the missile attack that sank that Russian boat? Or do we have 100% proof confirmation that Ukraine did in fact attack and sink it.. I've been reading some conflicting reports.

Last I saw Ukraine claims Neptune strike Russian MOD claims mishandled muntion accident. I have heard the claims that ukraine used a drone to target and distract the ship which its best search radar only has a 180 degree FoV. They say the drone maneuvered in a manner which prompted the ship to turn to keep track of the drone leaving its lesser radars to watch its back which was facing odessa. Also I guess there was bad weather...which can hamper the tracking of low flying missiles. My only problem with this is that if there was a drone which fed targeting info you'd imagine there would be video from the drone which could show the missiles striking. You'd think they would want to show beyond a doubt they actually took down the ship as opposed to an accident which would be a major moral boost to their forces.

There may be video, but you are correct that none has been made public yet.

The drones weren't used for targeting, only to get the main radar array to briefly turn away from Odessa, and they likely weren't all that close to the ship or they would have been shot down.

Also, Ukraine claimed that they hit the ship long before russia said anything at all about it being damaged.

In my opinion its doubtful and I come to that conclusion because its the Navy. They have not experienced the loss of comrades like their land based counterparts. They have not left comrades behind intentionally (unlike their land forces, who have). Finally the command staff for the navy seems to be well received / respected by those underneath them, unlike their land based partner,s who have killed their commanders. Disabling land based units is one thing. Blowing up a ship would be "overkill", especially since you would be killing your comrades.

I guess its possible but in my opinion highly unlikely.

Western intelligence has backed up the claims made by Ukraine. Until more info is released and verified it all comes down to which story do you think is more likely - Ukraine hitting the ship with 2 anti ship missiles or Russian saying there was a fire and the ship sank in stormy weather.

The issue Russia has though is they pulled all of their naval vessels away from the shore. Specifically far enough to be out of range of anti ship missiles. That action would not be needed if a fire broke out on a ship (except for the Orsk and thats because 2 ships were danger close when the Orsk was hit by Ukraine).

Did you watch the video or dismiss it offhand?

It is one thing when an interview is taken in a clean room in a safe area one on one, it is entirely another when the interview is of people crowded in a bomb shelter while fighting still rages on not far away.
Then another and another and another interview with people picking through the rubble or tending to their daughter's freshly dug grave.

Dismiss if you want but at least watch it first.
