So is Putin gonna sack the dolphins he supposedly had protecting the bridge?
Were they on smoke break I wonder?
Russian media was bragging about the bridge being "unassailable"a while back.
They need to shut up-how many times are they going to jinx the war?

That bridge was Putins personal project to act as a permenent symbol of his "Russian Crimea."
I am not lookng forward to finding out what his response to this attack will be.

Maybe this?

www.navalnews.com...

The blast has pushed the spans upward from the piers. This indicates the explosion came from below. A missile attack remains a possibility, but a UKR Naval Special Warfare operation is not ruled out.

I don't know if you noticed, but Ukraine also blew up the 'land bridge' rail @ Ilovaisk last night.

Plus 2 TU23 heavy bombers deep inside russia that had been used to attack Ukraine.

Why, did he invade a foreign country?

Does he have a history of invading other countries in repeated land grabbing efforts?

Does he make threats to nuke everyone if he doesn't get his way?

That's putin you're thinking of, not Zelinsky.

No, I certainly am not.

Putin has nukes and is threatening to use them.

Ukraine has none.

Like I say, your grip on reality is tenuous.

Or even long since gone?

Where do you get from my posts that I might somehow be "itching to die in a nuclear conflict"?

Quite the opposite, actually.

Obviously?

But he lost two supersonic heavy bombers, the kerch bridge, and his land bridge rail.

I bet putin wishes everyone would have forgotten his birthday.

Happy Birthday vlad!

Thoughts on the bridge strike.

* As mentioned already, it will create serious logistical difficulties for Russia re: Crimea.

* It reduces Crimea's connection to Russia to the land connection. If Ukrainian advances cut that, then Crimea is cut off as the Russian Black Sea fleet is effectively confined to port.

* Despite Russian downplaying of the event, it is a huge psychological victory for Ukraine. First, because it demonstrates their willingness to target significant Russian infrastructure; and second, because this event WILL reverberate through Russian society. As one media article put it, it was "a punch to the face" and cannot be ignored.

* The previous point means that the Russian state can't afford to not react in a harsh manner. This is very much an event that will trigger Kremlin debate as to if tactical nuclear weapons should be employed against Ukraine. Failure of the Russian state to react decisively and effectively will spell trouble for Putin's regime, which is already creaking as a result of the shambolic mobilization.

Cheers
