There!

You went and did it!

The most accurate video about humans that
iv'e ever seen.

Ha it's a classic is it not Kev?

Monkey hives lol.

Have actually got a signed copy of 'The Naked Ape' and would probably run back into a burning building for that one.

the human imagination can be beautiful, transcendent, and might
even bring us to the stars some day.

but that's only if the person involved trains themselves to make
good use of that imagination and also trains their rational mind
to work in concert with it.

If you don't, or if you let garbage memes infest your mind,
then you just become some tribal ape creature, throwing
poop at your fellow apes, just as that video shows.

I don't like seeing the negatives in humans.. but when it's
shoved right in your face, with lies, deception, theft of
excessive income tax, which is not used to uplift the
human ape, but to fatten the 1%, or a gun is literally
shoved in your face.. it's hard to remain positive.

the book i'm partnering on has a lot to say about 'poltergeists'.

Sounds rather intriguing Kev - know there's a few similar reported aspects regarding poltergeist, cryptid and UFO shenanigans (paranormal soup) involving self luminous globes of light, time dislocation, attention seeking behaviour, EM effects, rotten egg odour, adoption of individuals etc. and would be very interested to hear your take on it.

Sounds completely bonkers if you're new to the subject but these (and other) aspects do keep popping up - could be wrong but think it was Keel who coined the phrase 'camouflaged by absurdity' and it seems very apt.

Don't know what you make of Keel but think it's fair to say he left us with some very thought provoking quotes (first one's a corker).

• "They are not from outer space. There is no need for them to be. They have always been here."

John A. Keel.

• "If you had dared to suggest one hundred years ago that God and the devil were in cahoots, you would he invited to attend a barbecue in the public square, and you would be the barbecuee. But today it is apparent that the same force that answers some prayers also causes it to rain anchovies and is behind everything from sea serpents to flying saucers. It distorts our reality whimsically, perhaps out of boredom, or perhaps because it is a little crazy. God may be a crackpot."

John A. Keel.

• "The earth’s magnetic field is probably the culprit in many cases of seemingly inexplicable phenomena. Our planet is pockmarked with magnetic anomalies and aberrations."

John A. Keel.

• "Intellectual cowardice is only one of the problems of the academic community. Fort rubbed their noses in the swill generated by their gibberish and illiteracy. It was no secret then or now that academic publications are designed to protect the inept and to conceal ignorance. People with nothing to say, who even lack the ability to say nothing, can hide behind the academic method for a lifetime."

John A. Keel.

John Keel was an observer.

He gave much to us.

What I'm writing with my partner starts with the laws of physics
so to speak, runs past the "hard problem of consciousenss",
takes a stroll by plato's cave, ignoring it, and yes, does talk
about UFOs and other phenomenon as well.

It's a book about looking at things differently.

Overall, Terence McKenna says it quite well:

www.pinterest.com...

The word 'soul' however is most deceptive.. that's the rub
of the entire thing.

As John Keel said in this own way, yes,

"the phenomenon" and "the soul" are one and the same
thing;

it's no wonder that when people chase it, "it always is
one step ahead of them".

or as I say,

"consciousness is the trickster".

My writing partner likes quoting long dead scientists,
occultists and philosophers, and once in a while

a UFOlogist here and there.

I look out the window and write what I see.

That's why I also like John Keel.

Got to love Terrence Kev and quote is a great one - also put me in mind of Strassman's work and the similarities to other 'encounters'.

When it comes to fundamental (and fundamentally incorrect) assumptions about the 'hard problem of consciousness' then thought Bernardo made some excellent points below - he also makes some good observations about the 'vast incompleteness' of materialism and conflation by materialists.

• "We are achieving lift off and abandoning reality."

Bernardo Kastrup.

Likewise the SPR's Leo Ruickbie brings up some fascinating points about problems with the assumed model of consciousness and 'blocktime'.

• 'The Ghost In The Time Machine':

My writing partner has been a guest on "Thinking Allowed"
a few times. I've noticed that numerous people who get
interviewed there mention him.

Yes, Bernardo has a pretty animate following. I certainly
emphathize with him.. I understand how he got to his
positions.

I'm watching 'The Ghost In The Time Machine' right now.

Interesting. Keel himself said he was plagued by paranormal harassment.

One thing he tells is that these ultra terrestrials (what he called them) predicted many things. Even the assassination of MLK, but it was a few months off.

And the Pope's assassination attempts too were similarly not totally accurate.

But he says many times they were accurate.

So much so that when they predicted a massive US blackout in the sixties, he went and got a lot of spring water to hibernate and go to a motel to chill out during the blackout. This time the prediction didn’t come out.

So, when one of his friends was contacted by an Ultraterrestral the UT told Keel’s friend to tell John that we will come over to visit him and help him drink all of that water.

Yes Kev, can't find much fault in his reasoning (particularly about conflation) and get the feeling he's a pretty level headed chap - also thought the time concepts and receiver model discussed by Ruickbie were rather fascinating.

Well said about Keel and did reread 'The Eighth Tower' a while back - some pretty wild and entertaining speculation in there about the Superspectrum and the proposal that 'UFOs are not spacecraft but devices that travel between different realities' (or at least shift up and down the electromagnetic spectrum).

Suppose that could account for all manner of aspects including power outages, stopped clocks and watches (even hand wound), compass malfunctions, car stalling etc.

• "Clocks and watches have been known to stop in the presence of UFOs, monsters and ghosts."

John Keel.

Probes, life-forms, or even some humans can generate
a field that powerful.

I AM fascinated why it's "easier to summon a BTUFO" these days,
than many other forms.

There's some darwinian process involved here, that favors certain symbols
over other symbols.

Good to see you mate and probably not the first researcher to have said that.

Great post and did find some snippets of this 1974 Keel interview to be really intriguing - the first part deals with prediction but he also covers witness amnesia, origin speculation and ETH propaganda.

• "In the course of my conversation a month ago with these people, I laid out some predictions based on the patterns of previous flaps. I really put my neck out. All of my predictions are coming true. I was able to tell them that the sightings would be concentrated in the Mississippi Valley and move up to the Ohio Valley by the end of October. They are seen everywhere, but the heaviest concentration seems to be in the Mississippi Valley."

• "There was a case a few years ago in which I interviewed some witnesses in Long Island. It was a family that had seen some rather remarkable things. I taped the interview in their living room with three or four people. A year or two later I went back and dropped in on them to see how they had been doing and if anything new was happening. They didn't know me. They were amazed. I started telling them about UFO experiences, and they thought I was crazy. They had no memory of all the things they had told me a year ago. They were not acting as if they were hiding anything or putting me on. They were nearly at a point of shock."

• "There are several areas to this whole weird business. On one hand we have real UFO phenomena -- strange lights passing over the earth, probably since time began. The UFO intelligences are aware that we are going to see these lights occasionally when conditions are just right so they have to give us an explanation. Different generations have been given different explanations.

These intelligences have staged whole events over a long period of time to support those explanations. We have the fairy faith in Middle Europe; we have the vampire and various other kinds of legends. We have the mysterious airships in 1897. Now we have spaceships. But all of these things are nothing but a cover for the real phenomenon - whatever it is."

• "What we have had in the last twenty-five years or so is a large propaganda movement designed to create a whole frame of reference for these manifestations. A frame of reference that could be used to conceal and to cover up what is really going on. If it hadn't been for a relatively small handful of extraterrestrial enthusisasts, the concept of UFOs from outer space wouldn't have caught on; and the UFO intelligences would have had to find something else. But the outer space propaganda did catch on, and we have millions of people who accept extraterrestrial visitors as the explanation for the lights they are seeing in the sky.

These UFO lights are appearing simultaneously in thousands of places all over the country. If it were really an invasion from outer space, it would be enormous!"

Apparently (according to Keel's research) 10pm on Wednesday is the optimum time to see a UFO - dog walkers, cigarette smokers and users of outdoor hot tubs have also been said to generate more reports.

Other statistical analysis suggests that only 1 person in 4000 actually submits a report.

Great post, my friend. Great to see you too!

Many researchers, me included, put Keel as one of their top ufologists, and he was also into Fortean stuff in general.

Of course, I don’t agree with all of his theories, but that’s fine, one can’t agree with anyone on all issues about anything. But he was informative and entertaining at the same time.

I’d say of all of his books, IMO, the Mothman Prophesies was the best. I just recently reread it and was fascinated that actually, the Mothman wasn’t the main topic entirely but the mysterious nature of ufos and peripheral matters in general. And particularly his experience with the strange and paranormal.

The other two main books he wrote on the subject, The Either Tower and Trojan horse are also good.

I recommend them to newbies in ufology.

Yeah, Wednesday is the ufo big day, Keel wrote.

He is equated with Mars, the Roman war god. Wednesday is "Wōden's day." Wōden, or Odin, was the ruler of the Norse gods' realm and associated with wisdom, magic, victory and death. The Romans connected Wōden to Mercury because they were both guides of souls after death. “Wednesday” comes from Old English “Wōdnesdæg.”

Since a large part of the 'UFO phenomenon' and the 'phenomenon' in general
gurgles up from 'the land of the dead', this is QUITE the litlte synchronicity
I did not know about.

woot! how SNEAKY!

BTW...

care to know what day of the week my BTUFO summoning occurred?

now it was at 7:30 PM, not 10 PM, still....

Well said mate and as time goes on and more research comes out I definitely think it's fair to say he was onto something (whatever that means lol).

Haven't read 'The Mothman Prophecies' in quite a while so it's now on the 'to do' list - have heard it said that Keel is a bit like Marmite (love him or hate him) but his writings certainly made a huge impact on UFO research and he made some very uncomfortable connections.

Also think it's hard to underestimate his influence on other researchers.

• "We are dealing with multidimensional, paraphysical phenomena that is largely indigenous to the planet Earth."

Brad Steiger, Blue Book Files Released in Canadian UFO Report, Vol. 4, No. 4, 1977, p. 20

Have a lot of time for reading 'boots on the ground' investigation and also reckon Bob Pratt was a great (and very underrated) researcher - in his time he interviewed UFO witnesses from across the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Puerto Rico, Peru, Uruguay, Japan, Philippines etc. and it really does sound like the ideal job (to me anyway).

His book UFO Danger Zone (pdf) is well worth a read and contains some truly freaky UFO encounters from the South American continent - let's be honest, it can't all be the CIA.

as the pure and purile 'nuts and bolts' approach crashes utterly
(as further caused by recent developments on capital hill),

you'll see more fortean books coming out, where people tired
of the total BS lies about UFOs and other things will get off
their lazy ass in response.

Now even the best of those lazy ass researchers will be but
scratching the surface, but I think we all agree that a resurgence
of 'fortean openmindedness' could only be helpful

Sh•tload of global FBT reports out there Kev and think I'm right in saying John Hanson has uncovered one UK Police report from back in 1909.

Also think it's difficult to have a discussion about 'BTUFO' without referencing this presentation which notes 'that similar objects have been reported worldwide at least as far back as 1936'.

I mean this with all respect and sincerity Kev, if you summon one get a good f•cking photograph.
