UN human rights chief: Russia's indiscriminate attacks "may amount to war crimes"

March 30, 2022. Russia’s indiscriminate attacks are prohibited under international humanitarian law and “may amount to war crimes,” UN human rights chief Michelle Bachelet told the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva Wednesday.

Bachelet said her investigators are looking into 24 cases where cluster munitions were used by Russia. Hospitals, water supplies and administrative buildings have been struck by missiles or shelling, she reported.

“The massive destruction of civilian objects and the high number of civilian casualties strongly indicate that the fundamental principles of distinction, proportionality and precaution have not been sufficiently adhered to,” she said.
The Ukrainian people are enduring a “living nightmare,” Bachelet added.

“The hostilities must stop, without delay,” Bachelet said. “Today, I call on the Russian Federation to heed the clear and strong calls of the General Assembly and of this Council, and immediately act to withdraw its troops from Ukrainian territory.”

The Pentagon always overstated the Soviets/Russians, it helps them get a better budget. Russia's military, other than nukes, is mostly a joke of outdated, under-serviced relics.

The mercs generally have better equipment and training than the russian army, he is talking about regular russian soldiers.

There is no doubt russia's mercs have been there for 8 years though, these are the 'civilians' that putin claims the 'nazis' wouldn't stop killing in dombas as those mercs were trying to hold the territory that russia stole from Ukraine.

Way back somewhere in this thread,there was a pic of a Russian unit using a sort of lawn mower trailer(?) with a WW1 era maxim water cooled machine gun bolted on to it,so hell yeah they are going to use Toyota pick ups if they find them.


TBF they are defo more reliable than the best russian vehicles,and quite probably more resilient to AT rounds than most russian armor.

Javelins have a safety feature that makes it difficult to accidentally target civilian type vehicles (it will actually climb and self destruct if it determines that it's about to hit a civi), but only a simple software change is required to turn this off.

Russian troop convoys have been attacked so often that it would be impossible for them to have not figured this out by now.

In addition to their own equipment breaking down or running out of fuel, this may be part of the motivation for the russian military suddenly switching to civis.

They may be just adding these vehicles for hunting the Ukrainian ambush squads, which would make some sense since these squads are intentionally trying to travel through areas that russian military gear can't traverse. Russia obviously didn't bring many vehicles suitable for this task.

Just to be clear Russian aircraft entered Swedish air space and not just the ADIZ. Sweden should have shot them down.


Russian 'nuclear-armed' attack planes entered Swedish airspace - report

Russian attack planes carrying nuclear weapons entered Swedish airspace, according to a new report.

A source said the move was a deliberate act of intimidation, according to Sweden's TV4 News.

The network said four Russian aircraft - two Sukhoi 24 attack planes escorted by two Sukhoi 27 fighter jets - took off from Kaliningrad air base ahead of the incursion on 2 March.

Sources revealed the attack planes were equipped with nuclear weapons "something the Russian pilots were clear to show".

Due to the conflict in Ukraine, the Swedish Air Force reportedly had an increased preparedness and could see early on that the pilots were heading for the skies over Gotland, a Swedish island in the Baltic Sea.

The country's armed forces declined to comment officially on whether the two attack planes were equipped with nuclear weapons, but told the network that the violation of airspace must have been deliberate.

"We assess it as a conscious action," said Air Force chief Carl-Johan Edstrom.

"Which is very serious, especially as a country at war.

"We have analysed the incident and it is clear that I cannot rule out incorrect navigation, but everything indicates that they deliberately violated Sweden's borders"

The violation of Swedish territory lasted for around a minute, the report added.

Sweden - which is neutral and not a NATO member - deployed two JAS 39 Gripen fighter jets that are said to have taken images of the Russian aircraft which confirmed they were equipped with nuclear weapons.

Those mercs are basically true Nazis in their beliefs and are connected to others like them across 20+ other nations that are mostly criminal organizations and gangs. Their numbers are actually rather large (100s of thousands) so for Putin to suggest he is fighting Nazis in Ukraine is about the biggest joke I have ever heard.

Update on the shelling of Donetsk apartment complex.

2 dead, 8 injured.

They determined it came from an area between Avdiivka and Peski by an Uragan multiple-launch rocket.

According to google earth they fired from about 12 kilometers away.

Residents of the area said that what is happening is not shown in the West and no one believes that Ukraine is shooting at them despite hearing shelling for 8 years.

If you actually cared to look you would see there us easily 10s of 1000s of honest to god nazis not just as state sponsered western backed militias...but also hold elected positions all the way up to MPs in their parliament.

Are here 10s of 1000s of wagner and do they hold such political power and military power in their home country or anywhere else?

Brandon herra or however its spelled did a 2 videos on weird weapons found in this war. Its a great watch for some grandpa guns seeing war still. One guy had a dual mounted maxim with a red dot rigged up for the whole thing.

So just like I said, it was something around the size of an artillery shell, not a cruise missile.

MLRS miss actually makes even more sense, a small percentage always go wild for most older systems.


We aren't blind, we know Ukrainians have been shooting at russian invaders on Ukrainian soil for the 8 years they've been there, and those russian invaders were doing plenty of shooting themselves.

Now those russian invaders are intentionally doing this to Ukrainian cities all over the country, and you want us to be upset about one MLRS miss that took out a corner of a building, a building on Ukrainian soil?

The violation in this case occurred on March 2nd. I think the US B-52 action's might have been the response to their nuke incursion.
