Operation Mockingbird, Operation Paperclip, Tuskegee experiments, Gulf of Tonkin, Iraqi WMDs, Wuhan Lab, Syrian chemical attacks...

Under-Secretary of State Nulands testimony the other day. Source

The interview with Robert Pope, threat reduction program head, talking about the bio-labs in Ukraine.

Where there's smoke, there's fire.

And it's absolutely laughable that we have people on ATS adamantly defending the US governments talking points based on nothing more than... The US government's talking points provided to the media.

How much more of a tool can you be?

Putin is desperate - plain and simple.

Indeed. But it shows incredible idiocy to request a hearing at the UNSC with scores of protestations, after you've just targeted a suspected "bioweapons" lab.

That's like calling for firearms control right after you've shot your neighbor.

Not nearly as laughable as supporting a tyrant whose country has a (at least) 7 century history of expansionist genocide. Nor as laughable as supporting a regime who has little care for using biological weapons on their own citizens, just ask Navalny.

OK.

More whataboutisms.

What is laughable is folk on here defending Putin's war on civilians in Ukraine which is happening right now.

Lots of "smoke" and "fire" going on there, right now.

Is that the "media's" fault or the US Govts' fault?

You were saying about a "tool"?

The gov could have used diplomacy to avoid this according to a former CIA analyst who predicted this 6 years ago.

Meanwhile, no one believes a word that Russia says right now.

With a few notable exceptions.

From your link:

Black & Veatch completed Ukraine’s first Biological Safety Level 3 (BSL-3) laboratory in Odessa on time and under budget. The new facility enhances the government’s existing disease surveillance systems to detect, report and respond to bioterrorism attacks, epidemics and potential pandemics.

The BSL-3 laboratory in Odessa was designed and constructed by Black & Veatch. It is the first BSL-3 laboratory in the region and the first to be commissioned, accredited and operational under the U.S. Defense Threat Reduction Agency’s (DTRA) Biological Threat Reduction Program (BTRP).

“Completing the construction effort under budget definitely exceeded our expectations,” said Doug Gorsline, DTRA BTRP Ukraine Project Manager.

Bradley Karn, DTRA BTRP Program Manager, added, “More important was the quality of the effort. Black & Veatch was able to renovate a decades-old facility into a state-of-the-art diagnostics laboratory that will become the nexus of Ukraine’s biosurveillance network.”

The BSL-3 laboratory was specifically designed and constructed to support work with especially dangerous pathogens that can be naturally occurring or introduced through a bioterrorism attack. It serves as a central location for research, consolidation and training on the proper handling of dangerous pathogens. The lab also provides the Ukrainian Ministry of Health a safe environment to confirm diagnosis of suspected dangerous pathogens, enhancing public health while deterring bioterrorism.

As integrating contractor, Black & Veatch is responsible to DTRA and the Ministry of Health for the full rollout of the BTRP in Ukraine. Black & Veatch is ensuring the mission’s success by training Ukrainian personnel in molecular diagnostics, biosafety, operations and maintenance, and laboratory management techniques. This training, along with three years of gradually decreasing sustainment and transition support, will provide Ukrainian scientists with the necessary resources to manage the BSL-3 laboratory and the Ukrainian biosurveillance system going forward.

So all good now?

Being the Soviet Union was communist and Putin got his operation "fake" going - the russian equivalent to operation mockingbord.

Operation Osoaviakhim - Soviet version of operation paperclip

poison laboratory of the Soviet secret services, alternatively known as Laboratory 1, Laboratory 12, and Kamera (which means "The Cell" in Russian), was a covert research-and-development facility of the Soviet secret police agencies. The laboratory manufactured and tested poisons and was reportedly reactivated in the late 1990s.
- Tuskegee experiments equivalent by the Soviet Union / Russia

The Russian invasion of Ukraine / Afghanistan / Chechnya - Soviet / Russian the equivalent of Gulf of Tonkin

Biolabs in ukraine - Russia's version of Iraqi WMD's

Syrian Chemical attacks - Russia allowed the Syrian government to use chemical weapons on its own people.

Nuland testified to biolabs and not bioweapons labs.

Where theres smoke there is fire right?

As usual, you did a better job than me in your post above.

Clearly outlining what the US has done in relation to what Russia is doing. Iraq WMDs for example.

Case in point why the US should stand back and shut up.

However, i dont think thatll happen.

You want "citation"?

Just read them.

There's quite a few.

I'm not going to spoon feed a poster that is in denial.

Well the Russian mindset, at least the Putin admin mindset, is to lie and threaten. Its up there with Lavrov stating Russia did not invade Ukraine, then pulls the bio-weapon bs, while insisting they were protecting the territory / ethnic Russians they stole from Ukraine / lived in Ukraine.

I still maintain, based on everything we are seeing and hearing from Russia - from their own mouth's in their own media - that Putin is desperate.

Copout is fine, thats pretty much your MO here, well outside of being an observably incompitent legal beagle.
