Unfortunately, yeah. And that could be as close as the horror of a Kyiv carpet bombing away. When the pics and videos come out from that, the battlefield rage could prevail over cooler heads, and that could be all the reminder Europe needs to see. Enough is enough, I believe is the phrase.

There is an issue with the legal term national airspace. Because of Kalinigrads status they have a narrow air corridor going from Kaliningrad out 12 miles to international airspace. The flights into/out of kaliningrad are permitted and cannot be blocked however there are some restrictions on russian flights in the corridor. The impression I got was they have to remain in the established air corridors and cant deviate from it.

The exact opposite of how europe responded to hitlers early adventures.

Had the civilised West dealt robustly with Putin after any of the following events below, we would not be watching his invasion of Ukraine. Putin clearly felt encouraged by the West's apathy and inaction... The West needs to learn from appeasement.

Putin and Russia has got away with the:

- the annexation of a portion of Georgia
- extraordinary brutality in Chechnya
- the annexation of Crimea
- the belligerence in eastern Ukraine, including shooting down an airliner
- extraordinary brutality in Syria
- assassinations in other countries, including the use of radioactive and chemical weapons
- numerous cyber attacks against other countries
- meddling in other countries democracy
- internal repression and the slide to dictatorship
- etc...

these are Russian kids in prison for protesting against war.

God, this makes me angry. On the other hand, is it really wise to include the kids in the Russian protests like this?

Local residents of #Energodar have blocked the road and will not let the occupants pass. (drone footage, massive crowds).

Operator of Nord Stream 2 files for bankruptcy and fires all employees.

The Swiss-based company behind the Nord Stream 2 pipeline has filed for bankruptcy and fired all 106 of its employees, a local official confirmed to Swiss radio broadcaster SRF.

Why it matters: Long viewed as a Kremlin influence project that would increase Europe's energy dependence on Russia, Nord Stream 2 was one of the first targets of the flurry of Western sanctions triggered by Vladimir Putin's invasion of Ukraine.
