If you ever want to look at a complex history, check out that of Ukraine. They and the Russians have a 'complicated' relationship, but the history of Ukraine is about a lot more than simply it and the Russians.

I also think part of this is mirror-mirror. In that the Russian leadership wants to see in Ukraine a distorted mirror image of Russia, and the notion that this mirror image might adopt a different way of doing things, and (unforgivably) do better (choose your measure) than Russia is unacceptable. The same dynamic poisons the relationship of the two Koreas and China/Taiwan.

I found it interesting that Erdogan piped up about the pending conflict. Something something about Turkic peoples once having seen Crimea as theirs. As always, personalities come and go, but national agendas are enduring.

I've always found the way the Vatican handled the third secret of note.

Another bit is seeing Fatima in perspective. It was one of several like events that occurred during a roughly 200 year period. Lourdes is the other well known event, but hardly the only one.

Prince Andrew wants Kevin Spacey to testify at his trial

The Duke of York’s legal team allegedly wants the actor to tell a jury that recently convicted sex offender and Jeffrey Epstein “madam” Ghislaine Maxwell was Spacey’s guest – not the Prince’s – during a 2002 tour of Buckingham Palace..

Photos have circulated of Maxwell and Spacey in the palace, and the source told The Sun that while the Prince had invited the actor, it was Spacey who had invited Maxwell.

The tour was apparently arranged for former US President Bill Clinton – a figure who has also been linked to the deceased Epstein, and who was also a friend of Spacey.

The Duke of York earlier this week demanded a “trial by jury” regarding the accusations of rape and sexual assault Roberts leveled against him. Responding officially to his accuser’s claims five months ago, he rejected 41 accusations of wrongdoing – while admitting 40 times that he “lack[ed] sufficient information to admit or deny” other claims.

One of the claims he apparently denied was that he and Maxwell were close friends. The two were photographed together multiple times dating back to the 1980s.

Earlier this month, former head of Prince Andrew’s security, Paul Page, told an ITV documentary that Maxwell was a regular guest at Buckingham Palace.

He stated that a colleague of his “remembered her coming in four times in one day” at one point.

...so, despite evidences that he was dating Ghislane in the 1980s, Prince Andrew thinks people will believe Kevin Spacey invited her to Buckingham Palace in 2002? Does he think people don't know that any guests invited to Buckingham Palace would be vetted by security services first? Does he think anyone invited to Buckingham Palace is allowed to bring along anyone they want?

What he has actually done is linked himself, Bill Clinton, Kevin Spacey and Ghislane Maxwell to a single meeting in 2002.


Imagine how this works on cross examination in the trial?

"Mr Spacey, you have been accused by 4 different men of sexual abuse and ALL 4 DIED before the trial started?"

"You, Prince Andrew, Ghislane Maxwell, President Clinton have ALL been charged with sexual abuse... Maxwell has been convicted of it! What are the odds of such a group all meeting at Buckingham Palace for a totally innocent tour?"

"If Prince Andrew had a;ready known Ghislane for 20 years, seeing her up to 4 times a day, then why is it relevant that you invited her once in 2002 - a decade before the alleged offence against Virginia Guiffre?"


In summary, I believe this news is just setting the stage for Prince Andrews trial to broaden out to disclosure of the trafficking operation all 4 were players in!
