lol...

It's not illogical to think God made the universe, but is it illogical to believe he made the Earth flat?

Hey friend... it's OK to laugh... I probably did too... thought it was stupid and rejected it... (Until I looked into it and laid all my cards of preprogrammed belief on the table and sifted thru until I found the ones that came up true, regardless of my bias and education, beliefs... or the mocking of others)

So it's cool you can laugh... I wont fault you...

But to answer your question... Nope it is not illogical at all.... in fact it is very logical and testable....

No, and I'm not interested in any of your flat earth / Jehovah's witness propaganda either. Thanks though.

Proverbs 18:13

12Before his downfall a man’s heart is proud, but humility comes before honor. 13He who answers a matter before he hears it— this is folly and disgrace to him.

Sounds like you got it and me all figured out....

but just so you know.... I'm no Jehovas Witness... No Mormon.... No Denomination... Don't go to "a Church Building"... don't subscribe to a certain cult or religion per sey.... (I did grow up in the Nazarene, Baptist and Big Box Church.... but I've since come out of organized religion)

I'm just a "Follower/Believer of Christ Jesus and his written word, teachings.... (and in this case what The Word said he created, which is observable and testable.... again Romans 1:18)

But you can laugh and mock and label and believe you got it ll figured out all you wish. You injected yourself into this topic with me... I didn't approach you.

You quote scripture as if it's supposed to chastise/intimidate/explain something to me. It doesn't. You may as well have quoted something out of Aesop's Fables.

You injected your flat earth nonsense into this thread with your first post. It's easy to see through the thinly disguised deceit. This thread is about the creation of the Universe and whether it's logical to think God did it or not. Nothing to do with your pancake earth.

I think that was his point, some people can't differentiate between agnosticism, theism, deism and atheism.

I really appreciate this response to Kreeate.

Yeah, it's been awhile since the religious cringe was delivered so well.

Don't worry about quoting scripture to me. I already know the script.

Here is a good one though. Proverbs 31:6. I'm thirsty.

I quote scripture because it is "The Truth" regardless of who rejects it, doesn't understand it, mocks it, hates it etc etc... It explains nothing to you, because of your "Unbelief" and your rejection of it, your possible hatred towards it... You currently do not have the eyes to see or the ears to hear... But thru a humble contrite spirit of faith and confession, you too... like all are loved and welcome to everything He gives...

So No, I don't expect you to get it, but I will post it anyways....

“My son, do not regard lightly the discipline of the Lord,
nor be weary when reproved by him.
6 For the Lord disciplines the one he loves,
and chastises every son whom he receives.”

So I personally don't chastise you with scripture.... and in this case, it appears neither does The Lord.... but he does chasten and chastise those he calls His sons.... because He loves us and is training us into all reighteousness...

Your words prove to me you have absolutely no clue what it is I believe... (Pancake Theory... wrong again... Your Arrogance, Ignorance and Vanity expose your heart)

You are correct tho...this thread is about "The Creation of the Universe" of which I originally commented on and brought more scripture to the conversation.... which is and was a logical response to the OP, regardless if you are anyone decides to reject my comments as illogical nonsense....

Out of the mouth speaks...what is in the heart of a man.... With that... I'm not going to bag on you.... I wish you a blessed day.

However if you wish to continue to paint me or more comments in a unfair light then I will just ignore you as you are free to ignore me.... or we can have a big boy respectufl conversation.... That's up to you.

Peace

Can you tell me why the Israelites started out polytheistic, worshipping Canaanite deities, and then down the line became monotheistic?

Actually it's a quite lowly and lonely place for one to sit while passing thru... I humble myself before you and my savior...

Absolute knowledge??? By no means... 12 For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known.

Has father given me wisdom for the things I have asked and sought out.... Yes, I do believe he has, but I don't claim to be all knowing by any means.... only well versed in the subjects of life I have sought out the answers of truth... (Which cover a few subjects... but I digress)

I was taught not to argue at all... (Can't say I've perfected that tho, but I'm trying. Especially when it comes to this triggering subject....)

So this is how I am trying to approach this back and forth with you or anyone else past, present and future..

13if we are faithless, He remains faithful, for He cannot deny Himself. 14Remind the believers of these things, charging them before God to avoid quarreling over words, which succeeds only in leading the listeners to ruin. 15Make every effort to present yourself approved to God, an unashamed workman who accurately handles the word of truth.…

I now hand the mic to you.... speak freely.

Can I tell you why?!?!?

Well we certainly can chew on the meat and bone of the matter... This repsonse will not and can not cover it all in the space we are allowed....

The Israelites, if you are striclty speaking of those who were brought out of Egypt, most likely were polytheistic and worshipped Canaanite deities, because they were exposed to and accepted the world and religious beliefs/practices in which they were presented all those years.... They simply believed and acted as they were taught... (much like we do today, based on time place and lot in life)

For example.... Look at what they did in the desert... When Moses went up the Mtn and he came down and saw them doing what they were doing.... (Can you tell me why they chose a Golden Calf to be placed on the altar.?) We're they still not acting out what they knew or believed or had been taught...

As far as the "Israelites" becomming monotheistic... well they certainly didn't stay that way did they.... We could talk about Mt. Carmel and the contest between Ba'Al and YHVH.... basically "Choose This Day Whom You Serve"... We can talk about the covenants made.... the blessings and the curse.... but that's alot of bread to break...

I will mention...that Israel/Judah didn't stay that way tho did they.... They once again commited adultery and were divorced for their practices of such belief or unbelief and/or placing other or many Gods alongside or above YHVH.... (Can you tell me who was Jesus sent to/for?) (a little leven jacked the whole lump eh)

Once again... they found themselves given over to slavery at the hands of Babylon (even still to this day rejecting their Messiah) and again began to marry themselves, their beliefs and practices to that which they were presented...

It ultimately comes down to Romans 1:18-32, there you'll see what we or they have been given over too...

It's a cycle that seems to never end, when a person or peoples tend to "look back" and never really "Come Out Of Her My People" when we seek after our own flesh and other gods....

I'll leave us with this thought...

4 What causes fights and quarrels among you? Don’t they come from your desires that battle within you? 2 You desire but do not have, so you kill. You covet but you cannot get what you want, so you quarrel and fight. You do not have because you do not ask God. 3 When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures.

4 You adulterous people,[a] don’t you know that friendship with the world means enmity against God? Therefore, anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God. 5 Or do you think Scripture says without reason that he jealously longs for the spirit he has caused to dwell in us? 6 But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says:

“God opposes the proud
but shows favor to the humble.”[c]

7 Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 8 Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. 9 Grieve, mourn and wail. Change your laughter to mourning and your joy to gloom. 10 Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.

11 Brothers and sisters, do not slander one another. Anyone who speaks against a brother or sister[d] or judges them speaks against the law and judges it. When you judge the law, you are not keeping it, but sitting in judgment on it. 12 There is only one Lawgiver and Judge, the one who is able to save and destroy. But you—who are you to judge your neighbor? James 4.

If I understood where you were trying to go with your question.... well that's where I will start in my response.... We could certainly expand it out from there.

Appreciate your responses even if I don't agree with where you're coming from (at least for the most part). I guess what I'm saying is, my free time online is over atm, so I will have to come back later. Lol. In the meantime - cheers.

I think you're very confused.

It's illogical to believe in a god, or a god who created the universe. That is literally the definition of illogical.

You cannot use logic to believe in a god. Thats where "faith" comes into play.

Faith is to believe something in lieu of evidence, or logic.

You christians are whacky as hell when it comes to science. Just stay out of science, please.

In my view everything has already been determined

But I am open to chaos also, well unless chaos is Demons, so many different names for things.
