I'm sorry, but I had to laugh.

Total photoshop job! Just totally. My instantaneous first glance was ..."photoshop"!

C'mon, guys!

The picture in the OP doesn't even remotely look real. The "obelisk" is too prominent against the sandstone, there's no relief.

Just a complete (laughable) photoshop job!

Note- I honestly wouldn't be surprised to find out some obscure Mormon cult put this up as some kind of a Voodoo "sign" of whatever crazy chit they're telling their fifteen wives! Seriously!!

I wonder if we can locate it on Google earth?

This is a start. If you could match up the landscape and then search the canyons.

They were looking for sheep. Not sure about the rock formation on the map. Looks like a good landmark.

We did. Photoshop. And badly, at that.

Well, even if the photo is shooped, and image forensics doesn't show anything obvious, then they did a bangup CGI job in the video too.

So, the Utah dept of public safety in conjunction with the state wildlife dept, is perpetuating a hoax on the internet?

For what reason? To reduce their funding?

I submit to you, evidence of sheep.

Notice if you will, the state of utah on the map of places big horn sheep chill to the max.
I believe you will find that the desert area of south east utah is pretty well covered.

sheep dude

These arent the type of sheep our Michigan neighbors cuddle with at night.

The Utah obelisk looks similar to the Kubrick great film scene, all your missing is the monkeys or whatever they are

Yes, of course. Many objects have been found that way. Southwest is full of them.

And, I'm aware of dnr/agricultural and land management.

Just waiting til someone here debunks. Or not.

Photo appears...questionable. Thnx for reply👍

**Hey!? I was in Perrysburg yesterday. Rossford tomorrow. Where are you?

Guessing you didn't watch the video? They are walking around it and leaning on it....it isn't photoshopped.

I'm a sculpture major. I can tell you that several of my classmates have this level of skill and would TOTALLY do something like this just for a laugh. Even the materials could be procured easily from some schools. The main issues I see would be getting it and the equipment to install it out there. Many pieces like this are welded to a plate that is bolted down under the dirt or grass, so you would need some heavy duty drill bits and such. I'm guessing it's polished aluminum and could probably be put into place with 3 or 4 strong people, if it's steel they would most likely need lifting equipment and getting all that out there unseen might be tricky- not impossible though. Very fun and cool find. I WANT it to be otherworldly but..

I am 99% sure it is man made....your thouvht is exactly the same as mine. The logistics of this seem very complicated, while the installation itself seems very simple.

My guess is it was a movie prop by some independent film director. looks like it would have been a fabulous area to shoot.

Doesn't even appear to have disturbed the dirt around it.

The area looks disturbed to me. See the line in the front right of the photo as though something were dragged?
There are marks that could be foot prints around too. Could be those guys but there could have been others, so I had not watched the video more like Ducting

If you zoom in on the screenshot, you can see the polished rivets. It is definitely put together, and from what I can tell, has been buried or anchored in the ground.

The 2 guys leaning on it in the video tells me it is not sitting on the surface. It also appears to be at least 2-3 feet on each side.

To dig a hole in the exact dimensions of this obelisk without disturbing the ground around it would be tough. I have been all over Utah and New Mexico and can tell you the ground where this is set, is not easily moved.

This was either done a while back and nature smoothed everything over, or it was intentionally done which would suggest a LOT of work and a team of people.

I really want to know more about who did it.

Kind of wondering if this will be the new "crop circle"....will obelisks begin appearing around the world?

Or could this be just another odd case like Ed Leedskalnin? Was this obelisk sonically driven into the ground? Is it solid? The rivets would suggest it is not....so is there anything inside?

To transport a solid piece this size would be hard. To stand it upright and leave no trace....really hard.

Makes me think it actually is in a hard to reach area. If you had to take the time to put this in, you would need somewhere that was not on the regular path.

Wow...really oddly quick article on this story....brings an artist named John McCracken in....

Odd, yet interesting art concept.....

A mysterious object resembling the freestanding plank sculptures of the late Minimalist artist John McCracken—or the alien-built monoliths in Stanley Kubrick’s sci-fi classic 2001: A Space Odyssey—has been discovered in a remote area of the Utah desert, prompting theories ranging from extraterrestrial visitation to avant-garde installation.

Or maybe Instead of more monoliths appearing, people will start disappearing?

Outa here
