What they're crushing is family.

I have a 10-year-old who is desperate to see his family again. He was in tears over not seeing his whole family this Thanksgiving, and he's panicked that he won't see them again at Christmas. He wants more than anything to see his cousins. It's been almost an entire year since he last saw them.

My 100 1/2 year old grandma hasn’t been able to hug anyone for 9 months, but I’m sure she’ll make up for lost time in a couple years.

I never saw this mentioned when the “HRC is a NY elector” topic came up but states (or at least most of them) don’t have A set of electors. Each party has a set of electors in each state. They are usually loyal party members and each state has rules on how they are picked by each party. Depending on the result of a state’s election, the winning party’s set of electors is certified by that state’s governor, legislature or election board of canvassers (varies state to state iirc) and then sent to vote for the president they were certified to vote for. That’s why faithless electors are relatively rare. I believe I read that in Texas and some other states it’s now against the law for an elector to vote for anyone other than who they were certified to vote for.

So there was nothing unusual about HRC saying she was excited and confident she would get to vote for Biden... she was never going to have to vote for Trump (unless NY is an exception to the rule?).

I disagree - if a current politician commits a felony, he/she should be arrested and charged. There is plenty of precedent for doing just that too. Just a few months ago we had a state rep in OH arrested on felony charges - I forget the details but I think bribery? Wasn’t the IL governor arrested while in office a few years back too? Usually they resign once they are told there is an arrest warrant issued.

I think people will be more ticked by the “rules for thee but not for me” garbage than they would be by arrests.

IMO - Goes to SCOTUS. They declare election cannot produce an electoral winner that can be certified. They rule that a Contingent Election is the only remaining action. SCOTUS rules 6-3. Amazingly Roberts agrees with other conservative justices.

- one state one vote
Senate votes on VPOTUS -> winner Pence.
- GOP holds majority of Senate
